Description So I lied. I said originally I had no plans for following up my first HP/Disney crossover and here is another, with a few more coming. My two concerns with doing it were very little practice drawing men, especially contrived ones like cartoon characters and I am not totally happy with them, but it is as good as it is going to get. The other issue was pairings since it is hard enough to match characters for each, let alone concerning myself with pairings. However, for all of JK’s skills, she did a terrible job for the most part putting people together (Ron and Hermione, really?) so I decided not to worry about it too much.
As before, I matched on some combination of looks and personality. From left to right, top to bottom: Justin Finch-Fletchley (Tarzan), Neville Longbottom (Milo, Atlantis), Forge Weasley (Naveen, Princess and the Frog), Gred Weasley (Aladdin), Draco Malfoy (Adam aka the beast), Lee Jordan (David, Lilo and Stitch), Oliver Wood (Jim, Treasure Planet), Ron Weasley (Hercules), Harry Potter (Eric), Terry Boot (Prince Charming, Cinderella), Michael Corner (Shang) and Anthony Goldstein (Phoebus).
I am aware that Naveen and Aladdin bear very little resemblance to the twins. My other option were twiddledee and tweddledum who are mischievous ginger twins, but they really are hideous and I love Fred and George too much for such a fate.

I love it when people bash JK's own matchmaking decisions.  (Ron and Hermione?  There were really people who didn't expect that?  It was foreshadowed in starting in the first book.)  There's a lot more to Hermione than a love of learning and education, and she can definitely relate to other girls, as is evident especially by the time HBP rolls around.  I used to like the idea of Hermione with Harry, but after a few books it became really obvious that Ron was the man for her.  Their contrast is perfect, and they balance each other out very nicely.

Fun mashup though!

I agree with about the Ron/Hermione pairing. I know that people say that they saw them together from book one, but I never did. I've always rooted for Harry/Hermione, but that's just me (I also shipped Harry/Luna and for a brief time Hermione/Draco, but deep down I'm a Harry/Hermione fan).
Anyway, enough about that. I love this pic! I loved you girl's one too. Belle is simply too perfect for Hermione!
Great work!
Lol, Forge and Gred! Hehehe, I love those two!

Personally, I always thought Luna was a good match for Harry, but can't say I was every that invested in the matter.
Gred and Forge killed me. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum are mischievous twins, but the boys deserve better. I personally would be slightly terrified of the amount of trouble Aladdin and Naeeven could create together.

You don't like Ron and Hermione, one of the best couples in the series? I mean, it was pretty obvious they were going to be together. When I first read Harry Potter, I knew they would get married. Just look at all their sexual tension! Plus, do you really want to question JKR, the creator, the Queen?

As someone who basically is Hermione in real life and known several others who are as well, not one of us would ever end up with a "ron". Besides, JK has admitted that she changed some pairings away from what the characters would actually have done because she did or didn't like a character, so she is not exactly consistent about honoring what they would actually do.

You seem to think Hermione is a pretentious bitch and that Ron is "unworthy" of her. That is completely wrong. If you actually read between the lines, you'd know that Hermione and Ron were madly in love. J.K. Rowling is not just a typical teen fiction writer that pairs two people together randomly without showing it. The thing that makes this pairing so perfect is that they bring balance to each other. She helps him take responsibility, he helps her loosen up. Their relationship is also extremely realistic, as are many other couples like Harry/Ginny and James/Lily. And again, they have the most blindingly obvious sexual tension ever. Seriously, you could cut their sexual tension with a butter knife. Actually not a butter knife, more like a spoon. A rubber baby spoon

As someone who has devoted her life to education and learning, I do know what it is like to be the smart one who doesn't understand other girls and keeps things in order for guys; girls like me are NOT a good fit for Rons. We run roughshod over them and make them feel small, even when we don't mean to. If youdon't believe me about JK admitting she made pairing choices that didn't fit the characters, try reading some of her interviews. She readily admitted that Draco and Pansy made a better couple than an unknown such as Daphne, but she just hated Pansy too much to write it that way just as one example. If you want to know the right kind of man for a strong, smart woman in British Literature, I suggest you look at Lizzy Bennet, Jane Eyre, Elinor Dashwood, Beatrice (Much ado about nothing), Hetta Carbury,Lady Olivia (12th night), the list goes on. The men they loved were not all the same, but none bore a resemblance to Mr Weasley. He was really more meant for an Emma Woodhouse, Hero (Much Ado About Nothing) or Jane Bennet.

"Now the fact is that Hermione shares moments with Harry that Ron will never be able to participate in. He walked out. She shared something very intense with Harry...So I think it could have gone that way."-JK, after Deathly Hollows came out.
JK also admitted in an interview in 2007 that she wanted them to be together to create the family peace she never had, not that the couple was a good one.
She has also admitted that she planned from the beginning for them to be together, even when their characters did not move in the directions she expected. In fact, in 2011 she admitted ‘I seriously considered killing Ron’, so its not like she was so sure he was her soul mate forever either.
I do not look down on Ron at all. I suggested he was a better match for another type of female character in my last post. In Much Ado About nothing, Hero, the one who ends up with a Ron like guy, is the sweetest and most beautiful female. Jane Bennet, another character who ends up with a Ron like character, is both sweeter and generally considered more beautiful than her sister Lizzie, who has far more in common with Hermoine.

I guess it's hard to argue about a something like this, because it can be interpreted in different ways.

But just for the record, Hermione was going to end up with Fred, not Harry

None taken. TYhey the the same unusual lips in Disney and the hair color is closer to John's. He doesn't get that 1,000 mile stare like Adam/the beast does. Still, I am glad you liked it.

DKCissner In reply to zantror [2011-07-01 06:38:07 +0000 UTC]

Seriously, where the hell is it written that the Beast's real name is Adam? Because I'm pretty damn sure that the name was not mentioned at all in the movie, and I should know, I have seen the movie 1,000 times... and the Christmas sequel!
And I agree with your comment, the look of the perfect Disney guy pretty much looks the same, I was just talking to someone mentioning that if it wasn't for the skin color and hair Prince Naveen could pass as Prince Philip's twin, or Aladdin's twin.

zantror In reply to DKCissner [2011-07-01 16:24:02 +0000 UTC]

It never says in the movie and I agree, I have seen it countless times as well. If you look it up with Disney, they officially list him as Prince Adam in human form, but there is no explanation as to where the name comes from, it just is.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kuabci In reply to zantror [2013-12-05 19:06:46 +0000 UTC]

Actually, this is NOT an official name, and Disney has never used it in any official capacity in films, theater productions, books, theme parks, video games or merchandise (some fringe products NOT marketed by Disney have used it, but they have just picked up on the fans' use of it).  It was started somehow and spread by fans, but Disney has never used it, and in fact they have officially stated not only that he has no name, but that it's definitely NOT Adam (confirmed by archivist Dave Smith and animator/designer Glen Keane).  And now you know!

See here and here for more information.
