Oh hey look, some guys (and a dog). General Conference was a couple weeks ago, so I doodled some of the speakers. Some of them are more caricatures than portrait studies, some of them are an uncomfortable mix of both.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was born into it, but I have chosen to remain a member. It is not a decision I have made flippantly, or 'just because everyone else was doing it' (because quite frankly, they're not). I have thought and prayed long and hard about it and have done my best to study the scriptures the best I can (and continue to do so- you're never finished with studying the scriptures). I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only completely true church on this earth today.

One of my favorite things about the gospel and Heavenly Father's plan is that it is never too late for anyone to repent in this life. One of my favorite characters from the scriptures is Paul. Scriptural accounts of Paul begin with him doing the very best he can to tear down the church of Christ. He was responsible for the death of Stephen, one of the Apostles of the Lord. Despite these things, he was still able to repent and in fact became one of the greatest missionaries that ever lived, very similar to Alma the Younger and the four sons of Mosiah. Now please note that I do not endorse the committing of heinous crimes just so that you can repent afterwards, haha. But what I'm saying is that God the Father is no respecter of persons, and loves all of His children with all of His heart. He is always willing to give second chances, and I am so grateful for that.

I believe in and am grateful for the Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I believe the Bible to be the word of God so far as it is correctly translated. I believe the Book of Mormon, Doctrine of Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price to be scripture also from God, and I testify that these are all true books. I believe in modern revelation and that Thomas Spencer Monson is a prophet of God. I know that I am not anywhere near perfect, and I am so grateful that Heavenly Father allows me to continue to struggle with my imperfections. I leave these things with you in the sacred name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
