So pretty I agree the opera is drop dead sad and the duke is a slimy jerk poor Gilda.
However the pic is awsome you just captured something in it!

Marvelous detail! Thank you for giving the operatic background too. I love opera. A good scene, and a very grand interpretation. The soft gray ink decorations give the piece a Renaissance feeling.

Oh, that is so wonderful! I used to get season tickets to the Lyric Opera when I lived in Chicago, not expensive tickets but season tickets. It was so great. Now I'm limited to the broadcasts from the Met or to DVDs. But I still enjoy it, and also recognize most of the classics if I'm listening to classical radio.

It was wonderful. Lawrence doesn't have an opera theatre though, so it's going to be years before I can do that again. Maybe when my grandkids are older and we start going other places on vacation like Chicago -- but my daughter isn't into opera, so I will probably have to go alone once we do go up for vacations. Eh, it'll come back into my life when it does.

I know. My grandparents took me to see Barushnikov when I was very small and that stayed with me the rest of my life, also to a number of live theatres and other interesting places. As well as museums. I wore them out always wanting to stay in the dinosaur hall at the Field Museum and then poke through the rest of the paleontology and natural history section...

It is. They continue to amaze me constantly, and also make me laugh. Sascha, three going on four, gave herself a haircut and now has very short-cropped hair with bangs because of it when she'd had shoulder length hair. It'll grow back, but that was funny.

Yep. She is a lovely girl. With very short hair just to her earlobes now, which her mommy did a great job cutting into an attractive shape after she removed great chunks of it from the back of her head with scissors. I thought she was a little young for that, but she did it and it was hilarious!

Oh! (*-*) I love the masks! It reminds me of Carnivale in Venice!!!! ^____^) Awesome work! That Opera story sounds pretty interesting too, everyone is evil! (o.0) I will have to check it out sometime! (^_^) Good work overall too, illustration wise. My only suggestion would be work on the architecture a little, but it is nothing major at all! (^____^)

wow, that is spectacular. your coloring is amazing. i love how you make that one guy that's not wearing his mask stand out with his bright blue shirt and red cape.
your perspective on the architeture (which has incredible detail) is a bit off. try using a vanishing point to direct those lines to.

i love the wet paper color blending! I think it is the strongest feature in this drawing, and your choices of color are unusual and intuitive! I love the face of the on the right.
The placement of the figures is excellent and portrays somewhat of a friendship.

as always, your background is what catches me the most, i really do wish i could live in a world painted by the lovely Eugenia. But the masks caught my eye almost as much in this one, they are really beautiful. (p.s. i'm really sorry i haven't gotten that poem to you yet, i just sort of want it to be JUST right, and it just hasn't come out yet, but i feel it floating in here somewhere, i just have to keep writing till the right one comes out.)
