I get it, because he does it due to Sans' Fragile State, However-
THAT DOESN'T MEAN THE INNOCENT BEAN HAS TO SUFFER GASTER!

How dare Gaster experiment on his science experiments? So heartless. I'm glad he got erased. He deserves it, after doing his job.

Let’s not use words we don’t know the meaning of, mmkay?

1. The point of making these artificial monsters was not to make clever puzzles, or to take away invincibility frames. It was not to make them "the brightest stars around." It was not to make them stronger. It was to find a way to save Asgore, and answer a few of Gaster's own questions while he was at it.
2. I never said anything about Gaster being a tragic character.
3. I never said what Gaster did wasn't wrong. But it was still the job he gave to himself. Even if it wasn't given to him by Asgore, it's still a job to be done.
4. He wasn't planning on raising anything. He wasn't even planning on having sentient experiments. That's just what ended up happening.
5. Gaster is not their parent, and they are not his children. Gaster is a scientist, and the skeletons are his experiments.

How exactly was Gaster meant to know that these things would happen if he cancelled his experiments?

And yes, abusing him was his job. His job was to create two science experiments and then experiment on them, and that’s exactly what he did.

Missed opportunity to say "Don't worry, it's 'armless" there, Gaster.

couldn't they leave only the hand? it would be a lot harder to break.

Like zarla mentioned in the description, Gaster would still be able to find whatever little bones are left with the plates on and could break them easily to kill Sans and hurt Papyrus a lot.
There really is nothing they can do about it.
No one is happy with this.

Messed up, but it's an important practical lesson.

yes poor Poor Papyrus, he wasn’t even really following the conversation and he’s the one who gets his arm broken and that's just cold i get sans is more more fragile and making him watch him suffer would mostly likely get it through his know it all skeleton head but God!
