Technically Vegeta bring Cui (Kiwi) to the Army, and Cui loved him for it, and looked at him as a god or something. Zarbon was a prince like Vegeta, suffering a same fate with his fallen race, killed father, blazing hatred and vindictiveness etc. But soon he'll overcame his (self-)hatred finally, and realize what Vegeta never did. He wouldn't be better in Freeza's place, and it's not worse to accept life from him than anyone else, so he'll choose Freeza at the end. And Raditz...
Raditz was the strongest (yet...) and cleverest saiyan around, and basically the best friend of Vegeta, who was... well, he's just Vegeta. With all of his controversial feelings againts Freeza and Zarbon and the others... He chose the wrong path and never gave a chance to Cui what makes them the worst enemies later, but almost trust in Zabon, so...
So it didn't last long.
It couldn't last long.
