Tethebi moved very slowly, carefully. He didn’t want to scare her. Leaving his tail on the floor for the time being, he used his arms to move on to the bed and closer to his charge.
Zeah wasn’t sure what her guardian was doing. She scooted back toward the headboard of the bed, her eyes showing her confusion. She smiled nervously.
“W-what do you mean, Tet??”
Tet came even closer, making an effort not to look intimidating even as he loomed over her. He tried his very best to give her a gentle look.
“Well, Zeah, I’ve been thinking. I’m your guardian for life, which sort of makes us partners. Normally that would work out, but y’know how it is…” He smiled dejectedly. “...Partners can’t work together if one is afraid of the other.”
Zeah gulped and stiffened. “Y-yeah? So what are you going to do?”
Tet moved one hand so it was right beside Zeah’s hip, and reached up for her face with the other. “Nothing bad, I promise.” He touched the side of her face lightly. “I’m just going to help you get used to me....”

So, yeah, I'm really proud of this. I was going to detail it more, but there's something very fitting about the simplicity of this. It shows emotion without any true detail.
