Happy birthday to =DeathByMarshmallows today!
For once I knew in advance what I was going to do and was able to pace it properly to have it done in time, YAY!I drew a rough sketch of this months ago (still in my scraps here: [link] ) and knew I would be returning to the idea but also knew I'd be redrawing it from scratch rather than just cleaning up the rough. I'm so glad to see that I've improved a good deal since that original pic.
So Launchpad and Martina McNair - aka SHUSH Agent Marty McFly - grew up together and were just shy of ever actually being childhood sweethearts. When they reunite as adults things don't start out as smoothly as some (I, for one) might wish they would. So I got to thinking, LP is just going about this all wrong, and all he has to do is quote "Back to the Future" to win her heart.
Hell, it would work on me.
I leave it to you to decide whether or not he said "density" on purpose...

Just did a quick comparison of this to the original drawing and holy moly, you've gotten so good! The characters look so much more animated here, and I think it's partly because of the livelier facial expressions and body language. They don' seem quite as...stiff? I think that's the word I'm looking for. Not that I'm saying "ugh blech your art sucked back then!", no way broseph. I just mean it's been a while since I took a gander at your art (and I apologize for that), and the side-by-side shows that you've gotten even better since then.

Oh, thank you! I am *much* happier with this one - when I did the original I had enough skill to see all the things that were problematic but not enough to really know how to fix any.

Thanks! I am *so* glad I waited on it. The original was done at a point where I could see WHAT was wrong but not really how to fix it. Even though this isn't perfect at least it's about ten times better. ^_^ And, I just need excuses to draw Launchpad looking adorable. Well, no I don't.

It's not odd! I LOVE how her hair came out in this one. Both the linework/shape and also the colours and shading. Marty's hair is my favourite part of her design.
I mean, I think if I had more tech skill I could've done something REALLY awesome with it, but all said, I love how it looks. ^_^ Thank you!

Well of COURSE he meant density. His density was what made him dismount from his plane so ungreacefully and kick off the chain of events that brought him to her and inexplicably involves chocolate-covered marshallow treats.
