Description Of the three art trades I have going right now this was the last one I started, last one I inked, last one I began colouring, and first one I finished I think it's because I gave myself backgrounds on the other two and I find them stupidly daunting XP

Anyway! Because ~FrothingLizard gave me NO direction or request whatsoever, I was free to attempt this little scenario that I've had in my head since March or so; I don't know precisely where it came from, just my love of the adorableness that is the Launchpad/Pintail relationship I guess.

To clarify - no he's not proposing - it's... it's hard to explain the vibe I'm trying to give - but my take on their relationship at least in its early days is that LP thinks he's not good enough for Pin, Pin - well she doesn't exactly think the same thing, but she does view LP as totally not her type... But he grows on her. And how could he not. He's just so CUTE. And he's the kinda guy you know you can trust. Like, if you're going to let your defenses down for just ONE person in the world, yeah, it'd be this guy. ^_^ But he's very eager to please just now...

WELL. I threatened FL that since she didn't ask for anything in particular for our art trade I would do something sick and twisted, and clearly this is NOT that, so I guess I still owe her a pic We'll see... but I gotta finish my other two first.

Btw I had a real fun time colouring her scar but it doesn't show up in the JPG version here... it had like two different shades of pink and one of light brown, but only the brown shows up here. Blah.

Pin's expression is too adorable, like she can't decide whether to take him seriously or not. And I really like how you colored her beak, scar and all.

Aw, and Launchpad's awkward smile is really sweet, too.

That's pretty much exactly what I was going for with Pin's expression, so yay! Well, sorta that plus a combination of like maybe five seconds ago she was really irritated with him and going to tell him off but then he started looking like a puppy and despite how much she sort of wants to stay fed up with him she can't seem to sustain it..?

And, LOVE Launchpad with the low self-confidence in some of FL's sketches and scenes. SO. CUTE. So that's what I went for here. He's utterly determined to win her over by the end but not really sure if he's managing it in the slightest just now.

This is SO incredibly sweet. I think you did a GREAT job on them both! And your proportions are pretty good!! Those two are hard to get right, but I think you succeeded!

Thanks! If there's one thing I am pleased with it's that I'm gradually getting a better eye for proportions. I have to say, anime really screwed me up on that. EVERYBODY has tiny heads and long legs. Now I'm going in the exact opposite direction. I've done some practicing on Launchpad - not a whole lot, not as much as I want, but some ^_^

This is absolutely adorable! Pin's expression is just so her and LP just looks so eager to get her attention ... like a puppy! I love how you colored this and there's something really appealing to me about the line art. I think it's the fact that its thick, but not overly so. It makes them stand out

I had *so* much trouble with Pin, you have no idea, but the more I go over this inked/coloured version the more I am really satisfied with her (facially at least, which is a big deal). I still think I can do better but there are aspects that are "off" that are actually just stylistic things for me... and I have to accept that. I have trouble accepting that.

Regarding the inking - I don't know what happened to my other pen that I was inking with but I've had to use one that is actually a bit too big for the sketches I'm inking and the result is kidn of clunky but also... kind of neat at least on the heads/faces of the characters. I like how LP's hair looks here and I am surprised by how nicely Pin's face and head came out. It was totally a lucky accident - I was just inking really lightly to try to keep the lines from getting TOO thick on them and it ended up beind kind of brush-strokes, which is nice. ANYway, accident or not, I'm happy it looks okay. Thank you!

Dear jumping Lord on a trampoline!
I am FLABBERGASTED! I SO do love this! And I can actually see the two colours on her scar, I had to look a bit, but there they surely are !
Dear lord where to begin. Launchpad is ADORABLE, but then again we already knew that; I'm really surprised and happy to see how you interpreted their relationship, even without too much written from my part you have more or less captioned EXACTLY what I was going for. She would absolutely, at the end of the day, let down her guards for him! I really really love how you drew her face; that little uneasy, uncertain smile, the ADORABLE scruffy fluffy hair - I am a sucker for LP without his hat (not just because I find it a pain to draw) And those eyes... OH, those eyes - Pin DAMMIT, just jump into his arms already! I also love, that even on his knees, they're still not on eye-to-eye-level XD
Pin is FANTASTIC! Look at that adorable scruffy fluffy bunch of feathers that is her hair! Her cheek-feathers really get to me, and the way she scruffs up her hair, with that slightly confused/amused look as if she isn't quite sure of what is going on - she fails to see the obvious! Gawd I love how you drew her! And look at that beak, Just... Wow.
I actually gasped out loud when I saw the thumbnail - not only do I love the drawing I also LOVE the description - but then again I love your writing just as much as your drawing so this is SUCH a WIN-PIECE!

Although... I must admit, I am not entirely sure what art-trade this is for... I hope it isn't for the fanfiction-thing, cause I will be very very veeeery late with my part on that :S

Either way, I will go back to fainting from the AWESOME that is this drawing!

The scar colouration was much more vivid and lifelike in the PSD. I'm still disappointed by how it came out because I actually spent like a full 5-10 minutes on it getting it to look right and then shrank the file down and lost it.

STILL, though, I'm pretty happy with how this came out (even if I did have a realy really hard time on Pintail's legs and wish I could've found a way to just crop the damn picture due to general leg/foot fail); the inking's not bad and it's a step up from my last picture of Pin in any case. Closer to her height, etc. ^_^

Will admit to being rather pleased with how Launchpad looks. Heh. (And YES about being a sucker for him hatless. I think the goggles are super cute but y'know, you see a character in the same thing all the time, it gets to be even better when he's NOT in it) Well - so glad you like it and thank you for the encouragement ^_^

Oh, and yes this is for the fanfiction art trade, but that's because I set aside this time to do yours and not because yours is due now. I'm going to have to explain that in my write-up I guess... as if it's not long enough already

Damn, see, now I feel terrible, eeh... I don't think I will have the time to read the fiction or draw any scenes from it before end december/january. If things goes as planned, I will be living out of a rug-sack until then, without my trusted laptop. Of course I should absolutely have mentioned that to you the minute I knew about my change of plans Sooo... I'm feeling a bit, yirk, by being behind and soooo late about it. But not much I can do about it, unfortunately.

Oh, well... If you don't mind I would love a big version of this drawing per mail - si c'est possible?

Bah, and bah some more. If it makes you feel better you can consider it a birthday present, which I otherwise still have meant to give you for some time now Then you can re-sign up for the art trade at the end of the year or the beginning of next or whatever and get another pic
