Description When paleontology and mythology meet, you'd want to stay as far as possible from it's creations.

I got inspired by HewyToonmore 's Medusa pic to make my own gorgon-based monster and i'm pretty satisfyed with the end product.
Just imagine, a gorgonopsid with a whole mane made of snakes that kills its prey by turning them into stone. That would be awesomely scary and epic.

I can almost see an anthropoidal medusa with an inostrancevia-like face.

I like the dog nose on this Gorgonopsid (or should I say, Gorgon-opsid! Because this one is part Gorgon), since it makes it look more mammalian than reptilian, but I do like to add whiskers on Gorgonopsids for my choice when doing them in my style.

Well, I imagine this Medusa Gorgonopsid you drew seems to be having a longer, more snake-like tail than real Gorgonopsids, since Gorgons/Medusa are usually depicted with having serpent-like lower halves of their bodies similar to that of a snake. Well, that's just me.

If it kills it's pretty by turning them into stone, then how will it eat? XD

I think it'l have an incredibly strong bite to break stone, and maybe its powers only turn the outside of the prey like skin, scales, hair into stone while the inside like the meat, organs and tissue would be intact.

Wow, okay, the bite strong enough to break stone would explain how big it's jaws are! XD
