Description
This piece started as essentially just an exercise in angular painting. I've become fairly confident doing the cel-shaded stuff, but converting that into a painterly style has always daunted me. Looking at Dishonored's style and the recent Valorant concepts, it's definitely something I want to get practiced with. So, this character has a decidedly simple design, because I just wanted to focus on the stylization - making her silhouette so crazy angular that it would really engage the angular painting process.
But of course, while I was distracted with the style, this character started telling me her story. So now I've got that to deal with. XP (here's part 2: fav.me/de3wyb5 )
Oh also - when I've got some dramatic lighting like this, I like to mess around with color filters. Here are a few of the variations I really liked: fav.me/de11b7g
