I other entry for the Okami contest...I can't help it...I just LOVE all the Gods~~>w< !!! they are all so cool (and funny too) Unfortunately there was limited reference on the gods, because most of them only had one image. Well...I guess it's a good opportunity to practice my animal drawing skill...lll (currently taking animal drawing class XD)
this is 100% original art~^__^

This looks so great! I love that you give more attention to the gods since usually Amaterasu is the center of the spolight (which makes sense since she is the protagonist but stil...!)

and btw, does anyone know who Chibiterasu's father is? And if Nanami is Otohime's daughter? (cuz they both have water dragon fins on their head, and Otohime was pregnant in the first game).

I would say so, coming from someone who is close to beating the game. The plot is good, the art direction is phenomenal, the music is AMAZING, and everything I can think of is just really good. It's available for Wii and PS2, but they also released an HD remake for PS3 a few years back.
Okami is my favorite video game of all time, so I may be a little biased. ;;;

Probably because that is the cat, not the dog. In Okami you play as the god Amaterasu who takes the form of a wolf and represents the Dog in the zodiac. This piece is representing the gods (that you don't play as) that appear in-game. The Cat is the "unofficial" 13th member of the Chinese Zodiac deriving from old folk stories of how the Chinese Zodiac came to be (though in the Vietnamese Zodiac the rabbit is replaced by the cat). I hope that makes it easier to understand?
