I think Apollo won the very first Olympics; I know it's said he at least competed against Hermes in a footrace, and beat Ares in a Boxing match.

I love how this has the appearance of ancient with a modern twist-seeing as how Zeus is an ancient god and the athletes seem to be engaging in modern sports activities. It almost seems like Zeus himself will be watching over the Olympics coming up this summer, as if he anticipates it to be a gradious event.

You're correct. The Olympics were originally a festival to honor Zeus. The name Olympics came from the city-state, Olympia, where the games were held.

Yes, they we're originally held for Zeus, in Olympia (I'm learning in history class about this xD).

So gorgeous! I love the way you incorporated the Olympic athletes so subtly in the background but they counterbalance Zeus (who is beautiful in every godly way) perfectly! Just wow!
