Apologies for commenting at a time when you inbox is no doubt heaving. I'll leave just this one.
Firstly, your street photos are great. They remind me of Mr Weeks', which I hope you'll agree is a pretty high compliment.
The editing on your dd was great, but I noticed on this one that you export with Lightroom?
Of course I could be completely wrong about you doing that, but if you look at the girl second on the left, round her hands and camera you'll see a hell of a lot of artifacts. This is what the wonderful Lightroom does to my photos when I resize while exporting.
Just a (possibly unnecessary) heads up.

hey dude, yeah the inbox is woeful... the internet is just incredible. i cannot believe that i post what is only a candid personal snap, and in under 24 hours someone stamps a dd on on and its presented to the online community.

it blows my mind.

thanks for the compliments! i like his work.

ill check that out eh. it probably wasn't a high res export - i don't really spend heaps on posting here, unless its something i've already worked up for folio or competition...

not unnecessary at all mate!

cheers.

A 'must' for ever tourist For some reason you can always count on the Japanese tourist to have a camera handy

Great moment captured I like how the man in the background near the far right girl is looking very weirded out

Ha ha I have a story to tell then I've been on a school trip in Venice, there was about fifty of us and we decided to take a group picture. So we all handed our cameras to our guide to take the picture, well, everyone wanted to have one. He had like 20 cameras to take the picture with and the scene must have looked hilarious because a man stopped to take a photo of the guide taking a photo of us and then another man stopped to take a picture of that man taking a photo of the guide xD

Well, your picture is great! Well, obviously, it got a DD. That's what any photo is for, to bring out memories, isn't it?

I hardly ever take 'normal' pictures. We see the normal every day, why not live a little and see something a tad weird?

Excellent job!

oh how humourous.

must've been shooting a giant australian icon or something like that. isn't that what all japanese tourists do?

oh, individuality. if we want to get picky it's the one second from the right - the apparently uncool one. society, what a joke.

I think it's quite ironic how those girls are, in their school uniforms, wearing non-regulation accessories, and yet are still all wearing the same things (and doing, too).

Individuality, these days...

Even at f2.8, it looks pretty sharp. (the poles too)

Well done, I like it.

Zenhead In reply to woopidoo2 [2008-05-27 13:21:36 +0000 UTC]

2.8.. wide open, its a good lens though. leica. but most good nikon and canon lenses will be sharp at 2.8, even if that's wide open for the lens.

Manual focus lenses on most cameras (no chip) exif at F1

like an AI 50/1.4 on a D300 or something

Zenhead In reply to ael00 [2008-01-13 02:25:59 +0000 UTC]

no, the lens had no coding on it, so it didnt record the f/number. about 2.8 i think.
