Description
This is a Heinkel He 111Z "Zwilling". It was designed to pull the Me 321 "Giant" in to the air for Operation Sealion.While its top speed was 270 mph, its towing speed was 137mph.
This model was the oldest model I have put together so far. It is a 1/72 Italeri/Testor 1979 He 111Z. It went together pretty well. The hard part was the center wing section.

Its not one of my best, but I have improved which is the important part.

take out the side fuselages , put in more powerful engines, a double-bubble He-111 fuselage in the middle, you have yourself a bomber!

as i recall,the original scheme was to use 3 Me-110s to tow the Me-321 Gigant to the drop zone......way too complex and dangerous. after a few mishaps,the Zwilling was adapted for the job,and worked out far better as an aerial locomotive,also retaining the ability to carry an internal bomb load,if needed.
