Description Another one playing with styles because they really like that at the animation school I wanted to get into. This is Dotty Hopkins in a style somewhat inspired by Batman Beyond and Touch Detective. Cartooney didn't really work with my usual colouring so I decided to try and go for something digital and simple. GIMP is good for that, especially the path tool the path tool and I are good friends now.

Not really looking like anything I usually do huh? I guess that was the point. I'll have to experiament more with cartoony in the future.

Playing with styles is actually really fun. This was pretty fun to make.

Still, have some trouble with the legs and the salamander here...

Mad props for doing a clean cartoon style! Clean lines like this are a total pain.

The path tool in GIMP is actually excellent for clean lines. you pretty much just connect two points and twist the line into the arc you want.

Just be ready to erase any weird corners it makes sometimes and you're golden.

Huh! ovo I'll have to investigate that, for sure! I've worked a little in Adobe Illustrator with the pen tool, for line work, but it definitely takes a bit of patience.

Everything worthwhile does. And hey, at least it won't take you as long as some paintings took back in the old days.

Imagine working on the same picture for over two years!

Fair enough. My patience for paintings ends after 200hours, lol. My patience for digital things happens to be much shorter. Not sure why, but you're right, just gotta keep at it. X3
