Story:

After weeks of getting the 'I'm so disappointed of you'-look from Riley and getting the worst jobs at the stables possible, he slowly started to show a little mercy again. He was giving Moryan more breaks and less absolutely exhausting or boring work. Only sometimes he was messing around, barely daring to look at Riley whenever he passed by. Nevertheless, he missed working with Bam Oida, or in fact just with any horse. He wondered if Riley would ever let him train that goof again.
Only that one morning, in fact on the second day when he was allowed to lead the horses outside again, a familiar figure approached him, a young horse walking next to it. It was Riley who led that red colt he had always admired on the pasture. Wondering if he was about to be breaking him in soon as he had to yawn, he suddenly realised they had stopped in front of him.
"Catch up on your sleep, there's a lot of work waiting for you", Riley spoke in his usual serious cold voice. "I will be closely supervising your training with him, don't allow yourself to make any mistakes", he continued and held out the rope to him. Who only blinked at him a couple of times, before simply being unable to resist a wide smile and to CHEER innerly, having great trouble keeping a somewhat straight face. But he stayed collected and reached for the rope.
And before he could even think of an answer, Riley was already gone. PFS. Did that just really happen??
Riley had great fun watching his reaction but at the same time couldn't help but feel a bit sad about his decision. Little did he know the red colt, Steampunk, meant a lot to him, after all was he the son of his first wild caught and of the legendary Rust Punk, another successful wild caught Obertaurer. Steampunk was meant to have so much potential, he dearly hoped Moryan was going to take his words seriously. If not. Well. We all saw how that ends with Riley as a boss.
He was definitely wanting to lead the new pair into endurance this time, thinking about how endurance trails usually calmed him, maybe Steampunk could teach him observance and responsibility.
It wouldn't even take too long until he was going to send them on their first 'adventure'...
