Hello earthlings. Greetings. Your favorite alien is back. Today I bring you a remake of Princess Crystal, daughter of Shining Armor and Queen Chrysalis. Just to explain, since I don't want Chrysalis to be labeled a r-word, Chrysalis and Shining were never intimate. Thorn and Crystal hatched as eggs and developed like beetles normally develop. Since changelings before they were reformed believed they needed to feed on love, that's how Crystal and Thorn were born, because Chrysalis was feeding on Shining Armor's love. Just a FYI, long description.

Virtues: She is blunt and straightforward, unlikely to be corrupted into the path of evil.

Since Crystal and Thorn Shield spent most of their lives in the Crystal Empire, their appearance more closely resembles the appearance of Queen Cadence and King Shining Armor. Thanks to the crystals in her necklace, she doesn't turn into a changeling, keeping her pegasus appearance.
As for Changeling Hives, Chrysalis' Hive isn't the only one out there. There are several throughout Equestria, but contrary to popular belief, changelings from other hives do not feed on love like the changelings from Chrysalis' hive used to do.
Thorax's hive was attacked after the Canterlot Wedding episode. The ruler of the Hive Thorax was born into was weak and it was easy for Chrysalis to banish her and begin her reign of terror by merging the two hives. That's why Pharynx protected little Thorax, because he was bullied by Chrysalis' Changelings.

As the years passed under Chrysalis' rule, the changelings of Thorax's Hive began to mutate into their primitive, corrupted selves. Thorax was the only one who held out hope for the Hive to return to what it was, he owed it to the little princess Ocellus, daughter of the former queen and the last remnant of her prosperous reign.

° |Backstory| °

Crystal and Thorn spent their entire childhoods believing Cadence and Shining Armor were their birth parents, which was half true. The real problem was that Shining never treated them with the respect a father should give his children. Only Cadence treated them like legitimate children, and as the years passed and with the arrival of Flurry Heart, Shining's treatment of his children deteriorated so much that the colt could only think of his dear Flurry.

Of course, Shining Armor reconciles with his children eventually, but the years of trauma have caused the sweet, loving Crystal to harden and mature early.After discovering that Chrysalis had taken over another Changeling hive and that her mother's hive was now ruled by Thorax, Crystal, with the help of her aunt Twilight, her adoptive mother, and her brother, undid the petrification spell that bound Chrysalis. The Changeling Queen, not understanding what had happened and how much time had passed, eyed the pegasus, the alicorns, and the unicorn with distrust.

"Hello, Mom." Crystal smiles shyly, taking a step forward.

The realization hits Chrysalis hard. Here, before the tyrannical queen, were her two children, her most prized possessions. The prized possessions she abandoned with the two ponies she knew would love her children. "Crystal, Thorn?" A small smile forms on the Changeling's face. — You've grown up, you're both as beautiful as Mom.

The siblings hug their mother, afraid that she would turn to stone again. Chrysalis looks at Twilight and Cadence and mouths a "thank you". A bright glow begins to surround the queen, and before the eyes of the other four ponies, the corrupted Changeling begins to float, surrounded by magic, and transforms into a love bug.

“How do I look?” she asked uncertainly.

"Imposing as a true queen." Cadence smiles, stepping closer. “We have a lot to talk about.

Crystal and Thorn finally met the Hive. Thorax accepted the former queen and her offspring with open arms and, during one of his conversations with Princess Crystal, the king abdicated the throne and passed it on to her, after all “You are the true queen of this hive, Crystal. It wouldn't be fair for me to take your post." Crystal made Thorax her Royal Advisor and, at the queen's request, Thorn, as Captain of the Empire Royal Guard, made Pharnyx his sister's personal Lieutenant and Bodyguard. The newly crowned Queen Crystal went to live in the Hive with Chrysalis. Thorn returned to the Crystal Empire and, well, Crystal visits Canterlot and the Empire often, whether it's on diplomatic missions or just to visit family. Crystal fears that Flurry Heart's heart will begin to freeze, after all, the Queen's little sister is no longer the lively filly she once was.
