Description OK, minor changes so far, but more on the way. I've done some more work on the ring itself, if anybody ou there has any thoughts on how to get the cloud-layer to work better I'd love to know.
-----------------
Very early progress peice for my next project: an Orbital.

For those who don't know, and Orbital is a baby Ringworld, only a few tens of thousand kilometers wide.

For more info, see the books of Ian M Banks.

As far as I recall from the books, an Orbital's atmosphere is held in by the rim walls, not fields. It might be interesting to show Plate boundaries in the Arch. Most orbitals (the only exception mentioned in the books is Vavach) are composed of individual Plates, each with their own ecosystem and habitats... some very strange.

hmm...

This is incredibly late. In fact, this comment goes past the borders of late and into the boundry where it's almost done a full loop and may possibly be early.

Are you still working on this? Should I say what I feel should be improved etc? umm.. its up to you really. As far as I know, you may have completed it. I do apologise for my incredible lateness

minor life crisis? fair enough... can't *really* say a lot to that - apart from hope it all clears up soon, I guess. Hope it does I have tried to comment three times already, but keep getting distracted. Please feel free to bug me a bit if I don't get that done tonight.

Yeah, the ammount of things in Halo that are clones or lifts from the Culture books by Ian M Banks is phenomenal, particularly the Halo itself and the communications from the Covenant. Check out Excession, Consider Phlebas and Look to Windward. Player of games is also a good starting point.
