I suddenly got the urge the other day to do an image of a Garo from the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. They're probably one of my favorite Zelda baddies.I spent nearly all day yesterday working on this image, and just finished it up now. And that's about it.

This is a truly beautiful and chilling picture. The Garo are so mysterious, so shrouded in deadly silence, and you've managed to capture that very well. I love that Link is out of focus. It presents an even more foreboding sense in the picture. This is without a doubt one of the best Zelda enemy picture's I've ever seen (and that's saying quite a lot).

My pleasure; It's sad really. One of Nintendo's most engaging races, the entirety of Ikana actually, is one of the only ones covered almost completely in a veil of mystery. Perhaps that's why they're so much fun to work with...

ah yes, always found these things to be rather interesting characters. They were one of the more mysterious aspects of Majora's Mask, which is saying something given the whole ambiguous nature of that game.
Anyway, as far as the art itself goes, gotta love the colors you chose for it. Very dead and eerie, just like the Garo itself.

I like that you've made the Garo seem more humanly proportioned than the game; in this I can see that there might be a person under that cloak instead of some kind of critter.

i though the garos were ninja and they protect the ikane royal family and they spy on people/enemies
since the location in majora mask is a parallel universe to hyrule i guess the garo role is parallel to the sheikah since both have a bloody history and protect the royal family

As I said, specifics. As to what the Garoes were exactly, that kind of thing. I used to have one or two of the dungeons memorized, but I don't think I do now.

when talking to the one of the gossip stone they'll tell you that the garos are ninja that protect the ikane royal family
the garo master locate in the stone tower temple also know as the invert temple
the garo master also locate in the cave of secret and one of the mask child game of hide and seek

Yeah, I know of the ninja skills and such. I checked up on the Garo in two Zelda encyclopedias online they say that the Garo actually were enemies of Ikana.

Really cool. I love the Garo too. A Cosplay of them would be really awesome, but I wonder if people would understand who you are supposed to be :/ I think most Zelda baddies (not talking the bosses) are really obscure, except for a few. Still that would be great to see.
