I have had a likeness of this image in my head for quite a while now, and I finally dedicated myself to creating it.EDIT:Here is an anime version of this image: [link]
As for how this idea came about: I was inspired by the song "The Kingdom" by Caedmon's Call, and thought of my character Quirinus looking over Aijeleth-Shahar. After all, being the Prophet, he is the highest authority in that entire land, and therefore conflict in any part of it is his job to help take care of.

Aaaw! I'm glad the song could inspire you like it did for me and my story (: I'm surprised, because I feel like people don't like Caedmon's Call as much as they deserve... coincidentally, I'm listening to them right now O_o;
but anywhoo.
Nice perspective! The two layers and the space between the worlds was pulled off nicely. My favorite part are the clouds. They add the depth that is so necessary in this picture. The overall color composition is good too~ I think what would have been an extra bonus good touch is if you made a shadow on the ground (below ground) where the floating landmass blocks out the light. Like how Quirinus' shadow falls down toward the left, the landmass' would too.

Collectively good piece. A nice perspective, good detailing. And well, I just think this character is adorable to look at sometimes! I rathe rlike his robe, but the only thing that particularly bugs me is the way parts of the shoes are shaded. There are a few bright spots in the shadows that confuzzle me.
Still, I like it over all and he looks the part of a leader.
