Description
This is another image for my female anatomy project, and this time I did it of my friend ~rainoerus 's character, Laeria. She happens to be a blacksmith, which I found very interesting, so I decided to base the image of her on her occupation. I actually did all the lighting by myself this time, instead of using the "Lighting Effects" filter in Photoshop (which does help a lot of the time).Critique if you wish, but I do know that the fire looks really cheesy. This is like...my third time doing fire and I know it stinks. D:
Enjoy nonetheless now.

I absolutely love the warm atmosphere. One can almost hear the fire crackling and the sounds of a forge.

Excellent job on the lighting, and the sword is beautiful. The whole pic is nice in general, but it looks like you did struggle a bit to draw her arms. Her left arm looks almost geometrical, if that makes any sense.

Well, the right arm has muscle to it, and left arm is mostly just geometric shapes, so they don't really match. If that makes more sense. Just keep practicing. ^_^

Kyaaah, it turned out so wellllllll~! @___@ I *really* love the composition and the color scheme! Her smithy feels so warm and inviting rather than sooty and stifling~ Really great use of textures and lovely shading *_* My favorite part is actually the area around her apron. The folds and shading look so realistic~
I really like the smaller details too... her loose hair and tense bicep. They give her more character. Hehe, because forging swords and cooking dinner's all in a day's work for your everyday unconventional mother >

But this is nice. I love the warm colors. And I think this is the first time I have heard of a woman blacksmith. That was a nice twist by her creator.

Mm, I agree on that arm. Didn't work when I drew it without any slight bend, but this didn't work out too well either.
