Humans are definitely stronger, though I think the humans have forgotten that. I mean, we, in real life, when we think of monsters as being very powerful and scary. Maybe, over the years since the monsters of Undertale were banished below the mountain, the humans forgot their magic and who was the stronger race. ^^

Actually him being nice is very relevant for the safety of his people. If you're negotiating with another species that your people have a very strained relationship with, seeming cold and uncaring will only make things worse. The same message will make very different impressions based on how it is delivered.
