Description How you can tell you're a protagonist: this plan works!

Man I feel sorry for all those poor sods doing Undertale fanart. Don't they know that making sketchy comics of a game from twenty years ago is going to get them WAY more fans? SO MANY MORE FANS! MY HOME WILL BE KEPT SO COOL THIS SUMMER YOU DONT EVEN KNOW!

Nobody will even realize I didn't even bother to look up the Achilles sword before this, but hey at least its the last point in the game that I can draw Swordsman Bowie instead of Hero Bowie and still be correct!

Shining Force 2 is owned by SEGA and was on the Genesis and whatever yaddaydaddadayadadadaaa

-It's the ACHILLES sword. And you hit him in the HEEL. Do you understand?
-I understood "hit him with a sword".
-Close enough.

Well, at least he couldn't possibly strike the giant much higher than his ankle, so he's at least got a somewhat decent chance of getting it right on accident.

Also makes me wonder why this fantasy world seems to have the legend of Achilles in the first place. Did Greece exist in this fantasy world too, or is the legend of a guy named Achilles that has a weak heel just a universal constant?

Well, Achilles was invulnerable because he was dipped in the River Styx. Maybe the two worlds share a common underworld, and the sword was named after his weakness/death. Maybe the giant living armor was infused with Achilles' spirit, and thus had the same vulnerability he did in life, and the sword was named to mean, 'the sword that can kill Achilles'?

Or maybe we're just massively overthinking this.

But then why was the sword that could defeat the giant buried under a tree in town? Was he actually on friendly terms with the people there in olden times and they hid the sword to protect him? Maybe the Caravan was once used to easily transport massive enemy armies across the land and he was just trying to protect the world from that ever happening again! What happens to the Caravan after Bowie grows old? IT COULD FALL AGAIN INTO EVIL HANDS! WHAT HAVE WE DONE!?

Or, yeah, there's a slim chance we're overthinking this~

Those are all very valid concerns, and I would like to address them with a BATTLE AGAINST A CHESS ARMY!

I hope this answers your question.

Alas, my concerns are caught in a Checkmate! They are hopelessly defeated! Now they'll never get permission to use a fluff ball the float gently to the floor!

At least now Sarah doesn't have to worry about being replaced with Karna and her RIDICULOUS Aura 4 spell.

...did I say that out loud?

Have to say, I'm loving these little 'What-Ifs' and comic reinterpretations.

Glad you like them! I'm always happy to add to the relatively small pile of Shining Force fan work, cuz there's definitely not enough of it!

Poor Bowie. Being the silent hero is really screwing him in the eyes of players. Love the comics you got going by the way of these.

I definitely think he'd of been a lot better had they let him have some real dialog, but then I remember Lemon being saved from burning to death at Zeon's hands and his response is "Groovy!" so maybe the writers in the 90s shouldnt have been trusted after all . and thanks!

Took me a bit to remember this part of SF2. It's been awhile since I last played.

That's understandable - not everyone has been playing SF2 over and over since they were tiny like me . I tend to replay it every few years. I couldn't tell you every monster in every battle but I'm pretty sure I could list just about every battle in the game!

Oddly enough, I don't think I've ever bothered to fight the post-credits bonus battle... hm... maybe its time for another playthrough~

I can remember and recognize the characters well, but things start to get hazy when it comes to the locations, events, and plot.

Perhaps the next time I get an urge for RPGs, I'll play through SF and SF2 again.

I love that look of horror on Sarah's face. Like... 'Seriously, Bowie?'

I would actually like to see you do an alternate ending of them together instead of ... what we got. e_e

Y'know, I've thought of things that could happen after the story before I've never actually really considered alternate endings for SF2 before. I guess because Bowie's never really had a personality in my head until these two comics. But I'm not sure this Bowie would be smart enough to catch on that Sarah's crushing on him anyway
