Snarky genius inventors with inflated egos who are some of the smartest characters within their franchises.

Both suffered from traumatic incidents that damaged parts of them and would soon lead to them finding out that the technology they created became the backbones of superpowered arms races that harmed innocent lives which left them feeling guilty but motivated to correct these mistakes as superheroes (Iron Man was kidnapped by criminals, had a piece of shrapnel lodged in his chest and realized the damage caused by his weapons if they fell into the wrong hands so he set out to make sure it never happens again & Build had his memories erased by Evolto but later after he regained those memories, he took it as his responsibility to fix the mistakes of his past self who contributed to Faust's evil plans of experimenting on innocent lives to weaponize Build's Rider System).

Both fought shady government weapons manufacturing organizations who were using their technology for their own twisted goals (Hammer Industries & Faust).

Both went through character arcs of dealing with/learning from their past traumas, mistakes and mental problems which further helped them become better people who believe that science should be used for peace and oppose using it for senseless conflict.

Both use their intellects to create multiple armored suits to become superheroes and each armor comes with its own set of unique abilities.

They even built armors with more firepower for their best friends who serve as the brawn to their brains as well as their voices of reason sometimes which help keep them grounded (War Machine & Kamen Rider Cross-Z).

They have armors that surpass all of their other armors in terms of overall power (Iron Man's Godbuster Armor or whichever his latest most powerful one is & Build's Genius Form).

Both notably fought in civil wars.

Both formed teams of similar extraordinary heroes to further their efforts in saving the world (The Avengers & Team Build).
