Well, made this for the art competition at the manga con ^__^ Came in 2nd, yay!!
Hope u like it, crits welcome as always.It represents machine taking over man. Maybe i did it way too direct... crap, lol

I love how you've really let this piece get extra-grungy while still preserving the presiceness of line in the face and the rest of the figure. The wash-work is brillant, and deceptively simple-looking until you notice how many colours had to go into this piece. The energy in what feels like a moment frozen in time is a really nice punch to the face. In a good way.
I'd like to see more work like this. It's complicated and ethereal. Too much modern 'manga-style' work is depressingly similar-looking, and doesn't explore any artistic concepts beyond the tried-and-true work of the 'experts'. I applaud what I see as your nods to Pollock and Geiger (a VERY unexpected coupling!), and encourage you to continue to push popular art into new and unexpected directions. Ciao!

Lovely color theory used in this. The gray tones work very well together. And the detail is amazing. You have a longer attention span than I ever will O_O

Well, for coloring i used just a bit of PS. I submitted to Traditional since the work is mainly done in a traditional way

You should've have won the first place of that competition, because this is hellofa awesome picture.
I like the idea, even thou it is used, but you made the idea in this picture look original. It's not too straight to see that a machine takes over a human, no no, you need to figure it out. It looks like a hidden symbolism in this what you made wonderfully.
I dig the colours you chose for this, monochromic, nice brown colours. Fit's the mood perfectly!
And I just love the way you do fantastic fabric, as wonderfull details too. You need to watch the picture much more longer than just 5 minutes to see hidden little details you seem to put effort so much.
Overall, this picture is definetly gorgeous! Good job husbie! : D *hug tackles*

It seems like alot of you manga lovers can draw and paint really well.
If i were you i'd start making modern art and sell it for $$$$$$$$$.
