i say! there is a depth and kinetic energy to this piece that seems both primal and trained. it's like the pure passion of an artist in it's raw form, just they way i like it. what makes something a masterpiece? cause i do believe you could call this a masterpiece. the burning intensity of the reds and the texture that is all across it make it really earthy, but also human. it's lik ethe ballet inside the earth!

In many ways, this is all digital, as I could never create something like this without the computer (maybe someone else could, but I certainly am incapable). I have been trying to figure out exactly where I stand on this, but (especially with works like these I have no steady ground to stand on, as at heart, I still consider myself more of a traditional artist than anything else.
The original layers for this were in loudly contrasting (and arguably gaudy) color schemas, and had elements that only made themselves useful (or disappeared) once assembled together digitally. It makes initial composition weird (you create analog base paintings with the intent of smashing them together, yet still have no solid understanding of how those visual collisions will play out (and as much as I post, there is a good chunk of crap I am embarrased to admit I even had to throw to the curring room floor).
Enough rambling, more wine and brushwork.

oh? i had only assumed the only digital part was your crafty signature at the bottom. since there is appearently a lot more than i thought, you did a good job at it. i think the goal of digital work is not making a rabbit look like it's floating over a hat, but it's making it look natural. good show

what i'm really loving about this is those striking, bright red streaks you've got glistening through the chaos. this is excessively powerfull in a very... distorted way. im feeling so much off of this it's kind of hard to put it to words, but i'm just loving the entire thing. a brilliant mix of media

That is thoroughly awesome. I love the darkness, combined with the intense red. And the light bit has more of a pattern to it than is typical of abstract stuff - in my experience - which makes for a nice change.

those cool tube worms that live waaaaaaaaaaay deep in the bottom of the ocean. They are sooo cool
tubeworms (Riftia pachyptila) live over a mile deep on the Pacific Ocean floor near hydrothermal vents. They grow to about 3 meters (8 ft) long. Tubeworms have no mouth, eyes, or stomach (“gut”). Their survival depends on a symbiotic relationship with the billions of bacteria that live inside of them. These bacteria convert the chemicals that shoot out of the hydrothermal vents into food for the worm
