Puss in Boots character design done for my self initiated character design project at uni. Basically, I will be intensely and thoroughly designing as many different characters as I can for the next few weeks. The intention is to draw things I have never drawn before.The is a twist on the classic tale, with this Puss in Boots designed as a boss character in some fictional twisted fairy tale video game. The idea is that after the events in the fairy tale, he got greedy and started to use his talents to steal from anyone and now is the leader of a band of cat mercenaries and thieves.
Id really like some feedback on this and some critique maybe! Please! It would be very helpful indeed!

If this is a video game boss I could see him be an early boss in the game, but not a later one. He doesn't seem fierce enough to me for an end game boss.
Maybe he reminds me of King Bob-omb from Super Mario 64 ^^

Yeah, I imagined him in the vast fairytale world with Puss in Boots as a small section or 'world'. He thinks he's in charge, but really... theres something bigger and meaner out there!
(Talking about this makes me really want to start drafting up proper ideas... but i just dont have time!)

Baba Yaga is a witch from russian folklore, shes bascially the witch of all witches
Im going to draw her as if she is in an animated movie so she'll be a bit cute- but also spooky hopefully

Unfortunately there isn't any film, I just made a poster to try and make something different from just an illustration. It would be awesome to make something actually animated, but im rubbish at animation! You never know, in the future It could be done!

Well I had write the script. is it difficult to learn 2d animation??? I realize right now that I never thought about that stuff.

And as we are thinking about that, I think an animation would be cool to do in the future, its nice to have someone who likes to write to help with things like this.
2d animation isnt too difficult to learn, but you have to have alot of patience! Which I dont have!

hey yea really great idea.
of course 2d-animation is really tough to learn. I prefer 3D-Animation but that's a long long way to get a figure animated. but that's future. I think we should try to start that project i wrote to u and after that we could thinkin' about a new project. maybe baba yaga or something else.

I played too safe with the previous 2, decided to take a funny approach.
Im hoping to find myself a 3d modeler and see if I can get the made up simply as if it were an actual game character.

He's super adorable.
Your project sounds very interesting and you're so good at creating recognisable characters.
His silhouette is very distinctive and I've honestly never seen a cat with such a moustache.
Also I very much like the soft lines and overall handmade feeling you've given this one.

No problem at all!
I'd recommend to not make it too clean though..Somehow I especially like the messiness about it. Makes it more dynamic and lively I guess - just my personal opinion though.^^
