Halloween approaches and I struggled with what to do as it approaches. It's one of those favorite DA art storms isn't it? Halloween just has more diverse imagery than many holidays - it embraces the darkness and the light so to speak.If this headless horseman reminds you of the latest Ghost Rider I'll take that as a compliment. I had all kinds of other images planned that were basically science fiction takes on classic horror stories and favorite Halloween tales.
I had planned to do an entire Halloween series but some freelance work got in the way of that, oh well.

Basically a male version of Celty in a way. you know the whole Bike rider that is actually headless even though she wears a helmet to appear normal in the anime. I honestly find the concept intriguing since it looks like what i had described yet its a spin off from an fictional tale that seems to be set now in sometime in the future. Giving it this edgy feel to it that I enjoy. It makes me think what would be the back story. possibly a curse handed down to certain people who have a certain reputation in the world, almost something similar to the ghost rider's curse. along with that thought you also wonder if he is bad or not, or maybe just and anti-hero. Theres many ways to go with this and honestly i'd like to see more cause you have done a good job with this piece. keep it up~

I was wondering who that was - I saw someone cosplay that at Long Beach Comic Con this year. I actually usually get more comparisons to Durara?
I actually had a story in mind which would be just like the old folk tale except on a remote planet, and in an indeterminate point in the future.

Start with an Ichabod-poacher hunting lions at night. He's spooked by the gleeful, thick-accent cackling in the still hot twilight air.
In the distant grassy hill, rearing up on his ominous ostrich, is the accursed HEADLESS OSTRICH RANGLER!
With the body of an African shaman, garbed in ceramonial clothing, he brandishes a mambele knife in one hand, and in the other, swings his flame-engulfed shrunken head by the hair! AWMWA-HA-HA-HAW-HA-HA-HA-HAAA!

Course, I did not think up that one myself. It was something I saw on that comedy show long ago, "AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS".
As the name suggests, it showed this guy who was "horsing around" a gym, wearing his sweater over his head so he'd look headless.
