So,, here’s a group of the gem OCs I’ve made that I’m most attached to, info about them is below :>

(From left to right hand side) Sodalite, Howlite, Crackled Fire Agate (the one below her is Cat’s Eye Sapphire), Star Spinel, Dalmatian Jasper

~Sodalite~
Sodalite (they/them) is actually a fusion of two sodalites (their other gem is on their back and is hidden by their jacket). Sodalites had status just below that of a sapphire before the matriarchy was abolished, and they served as attendants and informants who occasionally organized fleets. Sodalite is loud, brash, confident, and often a handful. They serve as a diplomat (as well as offense) for the group of gems they now call their family. They first met Crackled Fire Agate and Dalmatian Jasper when they were all at a trial, all of them being witnesses of the shatterings of many aristocratic gems. From there they became friends and decided to run away from Homeworld together. Their weapon is a slingshot.

~Howlite~
Howlite (she/her) was an assassin sent after rogue gems (as that was the former job of all Howlites on Homeworld), and she met this group of gems when she was sent to shatter them. She was then saved from an avalanche by Sodalite and Dalmatian Jasper, and decided “oh ok i wont kill you i still dont like you though” and then realized she had nowhere else to go. She still isn’t super buddy-buddy with them though, although she does have respect for Crackled Fire Agate and Dalmatian Jasper, who gently welcomed her with open arms despite her initially being hostile. Her weapon is a pair of daggers.

~Crackled Fire Agate~
Crackled Fire Agate (she/her), who also goes by Fire, was originally one of Holly Blue Agate’s colleagues (they knew and heavily disliked one another if you’re curious). They had the same job but were made for Blue and Yellow respectively. Over the course of about seven centuries, Fire began to hate her job more and more. She met Dalmatian Jasper one day, who hated her job to an almost equal degree. They became friends but never attempted escape until they met Sodalite, who had the proper ranking and job to get them away from their jobs. Fire is calm, collected, friendly, and passionate. She’s known to lose her composure from time to time, not often at all, though. When she loses her temper, it’s usually over something big and warrants an equally big outburst. Her weapon is a small mace that can be enlarged at will, as well as pyrokinesis (the ability to control, manipulate, and conjure fire).

~Cat’s Eye Sapphire~
Cat’s Eye Sapphire (she/her), who also goes by Cat’s Eye, Cat, Kitty, and Kitten, was one of Blue’s most prized and esteemed sapphires due to her perfect cut before Blue realized she didn’t have future vision and therefore couldn’t serve her intended purpose. She does have powers, but not ones that a sapphire is intended to have, and she was considered defective. She was able to escape being shattered, but she was presumed shattered at the trial that Sodalite met Fire and Dalmatian Jasper at. After the trial, she hijacked a Roaming Eye and left Homeworld, fearing for her safety. She later ran into Sodalite while exploring the planet she landed on, and Sodalite took her in (this was before Howlite was sent to shatter them). Cat’s gem is on her back, and that typically correlates with the gem in question being withdrawn. She’s no exception, she’s incredibly shy although she loves her family. She’s not the best at showing this, but she’s eternally grateful for them and loves them more than anyone or anything else. Her powers are both vision-based, despite her not having future vision. She has x-ray and laser vision. On top of this she’s incredibly observant.

~Star Spinel~
Star Spinel (she/her), who also goes by Star, was going to be Pink’s spinel, but Pink chose Spinel instead. Star Spinel was never angered by this, rather very sad, and she, much like Cat, was going to be shattered for being useless. But that was stopped by a quartz soldier who had grown fond of Star. In turn, the soldier was shattered instead of Star, and Star retreated to Earth. On Earth, she joined a circus and was later kicked out when they found out she was a gem and not a human. Coincidentally, this was around the time a new semester of Little Homeschool was starting. Star wanted to enroll, but around the same time, Dalmatian Jasper came looking for a weapon for Cat, and ran into Star, who recognized Dalmatian Jasper as one of the friends of the quartz soldier who had sacrificed herself for her. Dalmatian Jasper took Star with her, and Star is the newest addition to their family. Star is happy-go-lucky, energetic, and sarcastic. She can only physically stretch her limbs and shapeshift.

~Dalmatian Jasper~
Dalmatian Jasper (she/her), who also goes by Dalmatian, used to be a soldier, and the weight of almost dying every time she went on a mission made her loathe her position and run away with Fire and Sodalite when they got the chance. She’s very interested in human culture and often educates Fire, Sodalite, and Cat on it. She’s extremely bubbly, sweet, and extroverted. Her weapon is a crossbow.
