Description

You wake up to a blinding light. Blinking a few times, you manage to adjust your eyes to the brightness, taking in your non-existent surroundings.

White.

All around you... White.

There doesn't even seem to be an end, no walls, no door... no ceiling. Just you and a cotton blanket... which also happens to be white.

You try to remember what happened before you blacked out but only managed to think up a huge headache. What happened? Where am I? What is this place? These and other stereotypical questions bombarded your thoughts as you tried to stay calm and think of at least one solution.

When no answers came to you, you sat back down and decided to wait and see what would happen next. Apparently, you didn't have to very long to wait. Almost as soon as you sat down, you heard a loud thump from your left. A person in all black started to walk towards you with a rather large gun in their hands. Images of shattered glass and people fighting filled your mind as the person continued to approach.

“Stand up.” The voice, which you decided was male, ordered.

You stood, deciding that you probably didn't want to anger a guy with a gun. “Follow me.”

Apparently the endless room was just an illusion, as you walked behind the man you were suddenly in a metallic hallway. Another person in all black was standing at the 'door' and stepped in behind you. As you took many twists and turns, you quickly figured out that they were purposely trying to disorient you in case you tried to make a break for it. But seeing as you hadn't noted any doors that looked like an exit, you stayed put simply making a mini-map in your head.

After about five more minutes of walking around aimlessly, the man in front of you suddenly stopped, thankfully you didn't bump into him. (That probably wouldn't have ended well...) When the door opened the guy in front stepped back and both the guards shoved you forward. Stumbling a bit before you could take in your surroundings, you then searched for why you would be moved if they were simply going to lock you up once more.

You found the answer quite fast, a man in a white lab coat stared back at you with a grotesque smile plastered on his face.

“Dad?!?”

“Welcome _________ to my humble abode” At this point he actually bows down a little then gestures to your surroundings.

Crying out startled and scared like a deer in headlights, “What are you doing here? That explosion should have killed you!”

“Should have, yes... But it didn't. And when Quantum heard about how successful my experiments were they came to recruit me, just in time to save my life...”

You tried pleading, “But my powers have stopped growing! You have already seen all there is to see! Why bring me back!?”

“Oh foolish, naïve, little _________. Of course you have reached your power limit for the little amount of Infinity Stone you have in you right now. But we're here to test the limits, and see how far this power can take us. So we'll be injecting more into yoou... quite soon actually.”

You were almost surprised by the large amount of effort he put into getting you back just to have you as a test subject once again. Thinking of your conversation with Bruce you asked,

“What is the 'Infinity Stone'? Just what have you put into my body?!”

“The Time Stone, one of the six Infinity Stones. Not all of it of course, you would just incinerate yourself then. We actually only have a little bit of it, but as you can probably guess by the amount I have already put into you, the Time Stone itself is quite large. A little, can be quite a lot when transformed into a liquid.”

“The Time Stone? Is that why my appearance can change from a toddler to a teen in mere seconds?”

“Indeed. Do you have any other useless questions?”

Since he seemed to be in the mood to actually answer, you questioned, “What's Quantum? It doesn't sound like your average 'take over the world' type of group.”

There was a pause of silence before responding, “a quantum is the smallest discrete quantity of a physical property such as electromagnetic radiation. The name fits us quite nicely I believe, and as for our goal, we want. No. We need the world to understand the importance of science, and if they don't, well, they'll be visiting helheim sooner than they expected.”

(They may not be trying to rule the world but this cause seemed just as pointless.)

You could tell at this point he was beginning to lose his patience, “we are running out of time ______. Please, take a seat.”

He gestured to what looked a lot like a dentist chair. You were about to deny his offer when he interjected with, “If you don't sit down, I'll get the guards to come hold you and put it in the most painful way possible.”

Remembering the night he put the needle straight into your head made you comply to his orders. Sitting down, you balled your fists and clenched your eyes shut, preparing for the agony you knew awaited you.

“I can't wait to see the upgraded you, ________”

You then felt the needle go into your neck, just like so many times before. You expected to black out just like usual and you did, but not completely. It felt like you were in a dream state, yet you could still see exactly what was happening around your body. It was like watching your own life through a camera lens. And you had no idea what to do.

To put it simply, the Avengers were confused. There was no one at the front door, and no staff wandering the halls. Where was everyone? Where were the defenses and trained minions to stop them from getting to ________? To make matters worse, Clint had run off with only three simple words to Natasha.... “It's my turn.”
