Pokevariations! I'm late to the bandwagon but caved in since I like designing things and the Deino line is just. My babies okay

Standard
Run-of-the-mill dragon. Aggressive by nature with a normal coloration and pattern.

Mountain
Accustomed to cold climates and higher altitudes than usual. All of its 'bare' parts are covered in thick, fine fur and the rest is longer than a normal Hydreigon's. Coloration is better suited to a snowy enviroment and their territories are almost three times the normal size due to a limited supply of prey. Hard to obtain and very stubborn, but is sometimes used in battles due to its very good stamina and large size. Fur needs to be sheared regularly on warmer locations so prevent overheating.

Glider
This particular variation spends most of its life airborne, hence the name. Its wings are larger than any other variation thus far, and upon evolution to Hydreigon it loses its legs completely; they become mere rudders to help stabilize flight. Native to steep cliffsides, their largest wings have developed two grabbing fingers to help assist in landing and crawling onto the ledges they nest on. Vibrant in color and agile in flight, some trainers risk the cliffs in attempt to snag one of the 'munchkin Deinos' in order to train them for battle, or trophy.

Naked
A result of selective breeding, the furless 'naked' variety has its audience. Due to the lack of fur and strict breeding to achieve a sleek, dimmed down look, these Hydreigons are either completely flightless or in rare cases, are capable of very little flight and short glides. Due to breeding these dragons are usually more mellow than their battle-bred or wild counterparts, having lost the worst edge of their aggression. However, they still have their own personalities and can be very impish, making them hard to handle for new owners.
While they still maintain most of their strength, rather than battling they're mainly prized possessions of collectors or breeders as their skin is softer and more vulnerable to things such as cold. Some people even give them sweaters.

Cave
Rarely encountered due to its elusive habitat in large cave systems and quiet, wary mannerisms, cave Hydreigons are among the most lethal if angered. Due to their tendency to never surface unless in dire need of food, these dragons never develop out of their initial blindness. Instead they have a second set of nostrils, increasing their sense of smell which they mainly use to navigate and hunt. Their coloration is very dark and dimmer than usual and their fur more coarse than other variants, making them perfectly accustomed to the cold, dark caves they live in. Their toes are very dexterous and they've developed a 'thumb' with a large claw to better grip onto surfaces if needed. Flightless, they instead use their wing stumps to communicate and threaten by fluttering them in surprisingly high speeds, producing different sounds and airwaves along with growls and roars. As they're very aggressive (even on Hydreigon scale) and lack vision completely, it isn't advised to attempt to use them for battles. Out of all the variants, the few that are raised above the ground cause the most trainer injuries.

Contest-bred Hydreigons, usually a result of countless carefully planned breedings to weed out the aggression and bring out the beauty of these large, well-built dragons. The more vibrant and pleasing the colors the better, symmetry is they key and facial markings aside from the normal under-eye stripe are valued. They're sleek in their build, their fur is slightly longer and much more silky than wild and/or regular Hydreigons and needs a lot of care to retain its condition and slight shine. At their peak these variants have no problem facing a Milotic or a Gardevoir in a beauty contest, but it's a long road of hard work to get a hold, let alone raise and groom one. As they're highly valued and bred to lose the natural aggression and replace it with calm and grace, they don't make good battlers.

Dwarf/Stunted
Originally a result of failed chains of contest breeding and partially faulty use of Everstones on a Zweilous, dwarf Hydreigons have become popular with people who, in lack of better words, just want a badass pet. They are smaller than regular specimens and cannot fly due to their underdeveloped wings, and are often very top heavy due to their stubby tail. This creates a lot of balance problems which renders this variant just about useless in battle since its agility is pretty much nonexistent. Their sub-heads often never develop form the Zweilous stage and even the 'main' head frequently has imperfect eyesight due to stunted development. Their personality varies, but is usually a lot more attention-seeking and 'happy' than a regular Hydreigon. Due to their imperfections they have a wide array of hereditary sicknesses, and are often in danger of obesity due to decreased exercise and regular feeding.

Scaled
Lacking fur and instead sporting a thick layer of scales, this variant is adjusted to warmer, more humid areas than the rest of its kin. They're usually very vibrant in their red tones, and sport a series of eye-like markings on their wings similar to their own, earning them the nickname 'seer dragon'. In reality these markings are used for display, depending on the situation meant to either flaunt, attract or threaten by the dragon raising its wings in a fan-like formation, sometimes shaking them to add to the effect. Their fins resemble feathers and form a crest instead of a collar. Due to their toughness, vibrant colors and impressive strength, they're very popular with trainers and are often, along with Gliders, used in contest families to bring color and new blood into the lines if needed.
