thanks so much. I love to watch it. I'll never do it myself haha. at least not to this extent. But I'm always impressed of the core strength of those guys and gals.

There's a lot to dig about this including the color and textures, definitely stay at it. I'd love to see the shadow of the jumper on the building below! Great colors, the blown out sky and rooftop elements look tight!
If I may be so bold as to offer some unsolicited critique, I'd mirror the image, as the western eye reads left to right(assuming that is your audience). I'd crop out a little more of the foreground green building and try to slightly warm it up. Light reflecting off the opposite building would diffuse onto it, warming up the color ever so slightly and making it pop forward a bit more from the background buildings which share a similar hue(I noticed you caught the light from the sky diffusing onto the shadow side of the building, too, good catch). Lastly, it's a dynamic shot, which is quite cool and conceptually solid, but because the buildings in the far background are somewhat straight on, it flattens the image a bit, robbing it of some of it's energy.
I'm just starting to wade into coloring, and Feng Zhu's work is a pretty awesome source of information and inspiration. Have you seen all the educational videos over on his site?

Thanks! For the building on the left it's blue and the greens and and warm tones in it are from the yellowish building across from it. I didn't wanna warm it up too much cuz I wanted a big contrast from the building across from it. As for flipping it, I didn't really think about that. I'll give it a try. I've watched all of Feng's videos more than once haha. Most of my painting ability comes from his videos. I really wanna go to his school. Thanks for the critique. I dig your work.

thank you! I was scared I'd be rusty doing buildings, architecture, and perspective cuz I haven't in months, but it came out pretty dang good even if the perspective is slightly off. So I'm glad I did it.

It looks like you took your time with this work of art. You even took the time to do the detailing of the windows.

there's a few photo elements within the windows to make it faster. What I'll do is I'll paint the buildings and windows and pretty much everything freehand and get the colors and look I want. Then I'll get some photo elements that would take too much time like window blinds and detailed window frames. then ill paint ontop of that and finalize everything to the point where hardly any photo is showing through. It's a technique most concept artists use for speed purposes. It started back in the day when real painters would put photo elements in their paintings and paint over them so the photo no longer shows through, but it gave a nice solid base for the elements they were painting.

ya before they were jut rectangles I painted lol. I originally had painted window frames and everything too, but I found these cool photos of buildings with windows I liked so I took the windows and skewed them to fit the perspective of my painting and i had nicer window frames and blinds. or shutters. whatever they're called. Coming up soon here I'm gonna do a HUGE 20+hour painting with tons of buildings that I've been planning for a long time and I finally have the free time to work on it. So I'm getting ready for it with these little architectural related speedpaintings like this one.
