Personality:
+ Independent + Intuitive + Focused + Responsible + Observant
- Detached - Inexperienced - Easily Influenced - Oversteps their boundaries

A rather detached person, Jamie doesn't form bonds easily. Or at all really, a life time of being a slave meant the only important thing meant that attachment to things was unnecessary. It also meant that you were on your own, left to fend for yourself. In order to survive, Jamie became observant. Observant of guard movements, observant of guards' moods, things that would essentially allow Jamie to stay alive and under the radar. Even if it meant being obedient to a fault and 'killing' whatever remnants of a personality they once might've had. They don't only rely on their observations to survive though; without a guardian and a mentor, a lot of Jamie's actions are based on instincts and intellectual guessing.

Focused and responsible, Jamie has a pretty one track mind. It pays not to think about much and simply work, work and work. Thoughts are noisy, and their captors especially didn't appreciate any funny thoughts like... say, rebelling. It would all be futile anyway, Jamie thinks it's better to simply get work done as fast as possible and please the Monsoros.

Without much experience outside of work, Jamie is much like a child when it comes to anything else. They aren't too well-versed in social cues, especially the concept of 'personal'. Things like personal space, personal belongings - Jamie tends to unwittingly steps over the line and drive people into a corner. They are learning though - it seems necessary to survive on this ship now. Without a proper reference on what may be right and wrong however, Jamie absorbs things like a sponge and can be easily swayed.

Likes:
+ Books
+ Learning
+ Savoury Food
+ Darby Squad
+ People

Dislikes:
- Tight spaces
- Loud noises
- Irrational people
- Bitter Food
- Not Knowing Things

Strengths:
+ Quick Learner: Jamie picks things up easily, as a result of their one track mind and observation.
+ Persistent: Jamie is not one to give up easily, and though they're not too aware of it themself, spite is a large motivator. Failure and discouraging words simply egg them on.
+ Objective: Their judgement is rarely clouded by emotions - what the heart wants doesn't matter to them. Their decisions are based on rationale and logic, always going for the best course of action.
+ Dextrous: Having spent time contorting in small ship spaces and wriggling through ventilation ducts, Jamie is fast, accurate and flexible.

Weaknesses:

- Unsympathetic: Due to their objectivity, Jamie lacks the ability to empathise and sympathise, and is immediately able to cut people off. They aren't aware of other's feelings.
- Passive: Jamie's idea of the best course of action is set rigidly within the set of rules imposed by the current authorities - in this case the Nymms. Without rules, Jamie chooses inaction. Proactivity is, to them, discouraged.
- Inexperienced: Having been isolated for most of their life in an empty corner of a ship, Jamie has very little knowledge, be it academics or street smarts.
- Does Not Lift: Jamie's strength leaves much to be desired, and combat ability is not their priority.

Background:
Jamie doesn't remember much of their life before the invasion. They suppose they had a family - a mother and a father? Maybe a sister, and a pet cat. They think they lived on earth, and the country... city? London? sounds familiar to them. They probably had a nice house and they were getting ready to go to school the next year, a school for gifted children. Children with potential. They don't remember going to that school. They don't quite remember any of this, really. What they remember though, are the years spent after the invasion. Quiet years. Having been separated from most of their family, the young Jamie grew up on their own for most part. They were quite the intelligent child, handy with parts and quick to pick up. So they ended up a labourer. Chucked from ship to ship to work, he rarely ever spent more than half a year with the same people. Most of his work was in isolated parts of the ship, being told to squeeze into impossible places and fix those parts of the ship. Contorting and twisting through air vents, dodging scalding heat and low pressures, tracker on their leg threatening dismemberment in case of any funny thoughts - like rebellion. Not that it was a problem for them; Jamie found it easy to follow orders. They never was a rebellious child, and Jamie was young enough to adopt the indoctrination without question. No one told them anything different, so they simply accepted what they had as a way of life, as the singular truth.

Without a friend, without a family, Jamie's social interactions was limited to the tiny room everyone slept in. A couple of times he held a conversation, but the guards never did like chatter. That and it's rather difficult to keep conversation with an empty shell of a person. It's a surprise Jamie remembers how to use their vocal chords. It's a surprise Jamie remembers at all - several times their declarative and semantic memory was tinkered with drugs, in fear that they may use their blueprint knowledge of the ship against their captors.

The rescue didn't quite register to them as a rescue - there was nothing to be rescued from, was there? Jamie was in the midst of being transferred to yet another ship anyway and this is simply another ship to work on, with more creatures that looked like them. The rules were slightly different here as was their job. They understand that now. During their training they've realised that they don't quite fit in with the other humans, don't quite know how to socialise and feel as they do. Currently they're in the process of learning not only the rules of the Nymms and their job as an engineer but also what being human means. Their Captain promised to teach them what family meant, and they're deadset on learning.

Extra:
- Doesn't remember a  lot of things about themselves, like their last name and their birthdate.
- Barely has an opinion on anything.
- they/them/he/she pronouns.

Shipping Availability: I prefer to rp/hc and see how a dynamic goes. I tend to be a little wary shipping with people I'm not too familiar with, sorry!
