The original superpower couple of the MLU. Hank Pym (59) and Janet Van Dyne (55)

For their story, Hank Pym was an up and coming scientist working for SHIELD along with his friends colleagues Franklin Hall and Elihas Starr. Hank was specializing in size shifting research and development and aiding him was millions of ants that he kept around and controlled with a device that he developed in college. After days of continuous work and failing to complete his quantum formula, Hank needed a break and took a stroll through Times Square at night where he saw a few mutants putting on a showy display of lights and sound. Among these mutants were celebrity singer, Dazzler and one of her backup dancers, Janet. Hank was amazed at the show until he noticed a few men moving through the crowd to the stage and they revealed themselves as Purifiers, a terrorist group who use religion to justify ridding the world of mutants. A shooting occurred and everyone scattered in fear. Hank pulled out his ant control device and called forth any nearby ants. As this was getting set up, Hank witnessed something incredible. Janet was shrinking and growing at will, the exact thing that he spent the last few years trying to perfect with his technology. After Janet was shot through one of her wings, she prepared for the end, only to find her attackers covered in ants and freaking out. Hank stood beside Janet and helped her up, even explaining how his ant device worked to avoid his nervousness around this attractive woman. During Hank's rambling a Purifier gunman tried to shoot at him, but Janet moved him out of the way and shot back with a bio-sting blast. This mutual saving of each other caused to the two to form a great friendship.

During the next few months, Hank would advance his research by studying how Janet's mutation worked and discovered a particle that made her size shifting possible. Being the discoverer Hank named the particle, a Pym Particle, Janet liked that name better than his first suggestion, The Van Dyne Particle, sounded to "science-y" to her. Janet also found a new career as fashion show model with a Hungarian designer and friend, Nadia Trovaya, helping her out. When Hank perfected shrinking down to the size of an ant, he rode an ant through the SHIELD labs he worked at and discovered what SHIELD wanted to use his technology for, Espionage and Assassinations. Hank shrunk down his work and the evidence of SHIELD's plans and fled, leaving a tiny note behind. COME AFTER ME AND I'LL SHOW THE WORLD EVERYTHING YOU'RE PLANNING. SHIELD left him alone for the time being and Hank was left to his work, he even discovered a microverse that exists far beyond the scope of an atom and it would be dubbed "The Quantum Realm".

During a fashion show, the supervillain Whirlwind, showed up fleeing the cops and putting everyone nearby in danger. Janet flew into action to stop this villain, with a news crew filming the whole fight. Hank saw the fight on his TV and flew off to aid Janet. With the combined teamwork of Hank and Janet, they took down the D-List villain. When asked about who they were, Janet told the people of New York that they were "Ant-Man and the Wasp"

After this, Hank and Janet would be known as heroes and even helped to form the founding group of The Avengers with Iron Man, Thor, and The Hulk. Hank and Janet would start dating. Hank would go on to develop the Ultimate AI, Ultron.
In the future, Hank has become semi-retired from superheroics in favor of villain reform. Hank would also develop a miniature laboratory called "The Ant Hill" where he works with his daughter, Nadia Pym, and close friend, Bill Foster. Janet would go on to keep being a hero while her husband was more dedicated to research, she would also be one of the founders of the Next Avengers Initiative, a way of training the next generation of heroes to defend the world. Hank and Janet's son, Henry Pym Jr., would be enrolled into this very initiative to train as a new hero, Yellowjacket.

Hank still wears his Ant-Man suit, but with a lab coat since he mostly works at his laboratory and Janet wears a modified, modernized version of her first costume.
