This has been a big project of mine. I started this right after I did "Don't leave me here". I have working on it for about a week, mostly very late each night. I loved doing it and didn't want it to end, kind of like when you read an amazing book and you try to read slow in the end cause you don't want it to end...Anyway, I wanted to create a goth-like girl but very sweet. If I were a gothtype this is how I would look like, if I could choose.
The drawing is made with pastels again and my coal pencil for the hair. I wanted to create pale skin, the colour is a bit more brown than shown on this photo but still look very pale. I experiment a lot with the skin colour these days, really want to learn it.
The drawing is based on a photo of my beautiful friend. As it was a headshot only I had to make up the body sort of which gave me a bit of troubles but I think it went alright. I kept the corset simple as I didn't have a reference for that either.
Overall I feel really happy with the outcome of this drawing, was worth the week of work I feel.
The drawing is rather big, 40x50cm / 16x20"

dang zindy this is amazing, i really like the pink/black theme running through out the piece, the blue cloudy background really makes her stand out, and the hair is so beautifully done.

Thanks much, happy you think so. I used a long time deciding which colours to add in the background, I was about to make it grey but thought this kind of blue would make her stand out more.

Really beautiful, once more! I always like your work a lot, but I have to admit that you reach my soft spot with this series of pastel drawings of dark girls. I especially love this cause pastel is my favorite medium (love the covering and creamy aspect of it) and I'm fond of dark or intense subjects mixed with bright colors -especially pink and purple- (love the Dita Von Teese's pink photos sessions, for example)

Hmm, I am not sure, you might be right. But it is the way she looks... I think it could be the cheek bone being too thin somehow. Anyway, too late to do something about it now

looks really smooth and you control the pastels really nicely. Nicley doesn't really cover it, but I hope you know what I mean 
I think you did a great job with the body too, but in my opinion it's just a little big for the head.(or else it's because I want her to have really fluffy hair and that's why I think the head is small) anyway, it's a great piece of work
How did you make the background - I'm thinking of the clouds
