Ah, Adastreia... it's been such a long time since I last drew you. And this picture in particular took very long.
But, as much work as it was, I love these quillings and they were fun to draw.

Anyway, what I thought of while drawing this was a younger Adastreia who knew that she fulfilled her duty to her family and country by marrying a foreign warlord, but felt unhappy, because she hated her husband and felt trapped in a strange land. She often imagined what it would be like, if Lian Orome ("Fae", as she called him), her closest childhood friend, prince of Anastra and also her brother, would come for her, hoping that one day he would take her back home.
Unfortunately, he never even payed her a visit and after their home was destroyed, she thought he had died along with everybody else.

(Luckily, though, she managed to flee after her husbands death and went after her brother when she learned he was still quite alive.)
