I made a race of elemental/expandy themed elves a long time ago, and am wanting lately to bring back the idea.

The Dark ones, modeled after the Drow, are quick to regenerate, and quite masochistic. They either usually become assassins, or combination concubine/priest.

The assassins are fond of filling themselves with a potent poison, luring someone in close, usually to bed, and bursting themselves onto the target, typically via the prick of a knife.

The poison and the explosion doesn't harm the elf at all, and they always delight in the end result, and, of course, the journey to it.
