this is really cool! I hope you don't mind my asking, but how do you create something like this? programs and what not.

Thank you kindly~
Weell, in this kind of work I use JWildfire to manipulate certain fractal parameters over time to give this the pulsing effect and for this particular piece I manipulated the camera over time to make the whole view to spin this way. The key point in here is to see that the camera and fractal parameter manipulations match well in a set of frames so you can make the animation as a perfect loop just by rendering. I use gimp to make small amount of "corrections" to the frames / images, usually just color, brightness and / or contrast. In this case I felt like I didn't get the setup in JWildfire well enough and the frames weren't vibrant enough for the theme of the work as a result, so I made a slight color adjustment and a the construction of the .gif animation in GIMP in this case. Other possibility would've been to adjust the setup in JWildfire and render it again, but at least animations take such a huge amount of time to render and there is the possibility that I will feel the setup being slightly off even after the second rendering session which would have made me pull out my hair in frustration.... xD
Hopefully this helps and I didn't ramble too much nonsense~ ^^'

Thanks for replying to me. It is very useful information, and I will have to experiment with it should I ever feel the need/ have the time to mess with fractal .gifs

Beautifully done Jesse! You should submit to the JWildfire group too - 41 and it's not there!!

Yep, know what you mean and I'm not in that many groups! I have to open the groups on a separate page and go back and forth down the list!! If the group has a limit and I've reached it I usually forget to gO back to it next day!
