This rendering is absolute stunning! The textures on the wood is perfectly done, and i love the details with the bolts, and that you actually can se how the building is built Thats a fav from me + i'm watching you

Fine render!
But so much wood in design.. Don't you affraid it would be a dirty for a short time? I ever don't speak what may happens inside the cabins.

Yeah, I'm not the designer, just did the viz. There's a special system to easily wash the thing designed. Also the wood be specially impregnated.

Nice use of VRay there
May I ask what the rendertime was, and what machines(s) you used?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

zmoodel In reply to squ4red [2007-02-02 21:32:17 +0000 UTC]

I don't remember exactly, More than ten hours on pentium 1,6 Ghz.
Too long. Today I would use IRR with detail enhancement intead of Quasi Monte Carlo. It would be much faster and better.

Ah, thank god for netrenders
Oh really? We use QMC at work, seems to get the best results..
we use Max9 with V-Ray 1.5..

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

zmoodel In reply to squ4red [2007-02-05 22:03:09 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but there's a new option in Irr seetings called detail enhancement. While most of the image is rendered with standard irr, it uses qmc for accurate detail achievement. It's fast and with some tweaking it is possible to create really accurate renderings. Try it.

your work is the best rendering i ever seen and also your modeling is great

i want to ask u a question how do u transfer from modo to 3dmax and the oppsite
and do u render with modo ?
Thanks

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

zmoodel In reply to boka1 [2006-12-28 15:33:19 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, I transfer models through obj files, unfortunatelly it is the only way.
I use modo rendering sometimes, only when I want to test my models in various lighting conditions. For final renderings I use vray, it has faster and better gi algorithms.

I noticed the texture pattern is repeting itself on the right,
But awesoem piece of work overall, gerat job

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

zmoodel In reply to TomerM [2006-09-01 16:58:23 +0000 UTC]

The texture is repeting everywhere, becouse the are only two textures of wood used. I tried to hide it as much as it was possible

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TomerM In reply to zmoodel [2006-09-01 18:38:59 +0000 UTC]

I see you did randomize the placment of the texture on some parts.

You don't need 20 textures of the same kind with unique pattern on 20 different objects after all
It is possible to randomize the texture placement.
