Description Another Berry pic, this one as the Japanese PowerPuff Girl Z. I gave her a giant match, although I guess the deviates from the 'innocent childrens toy-weapon' pattern that the original artists were going for, huh?

Mostly I just want for us to NOT have food related villains. Food villains generally annoy me. How about mail order ninjas? Where people order the ninja suits from the backs of magazines and websites and then become ninja pawns the moment they put the things on. They could all be controlled by the person selling the suits.

Confused ghost that's somehow convinced all the humans are in the wrong place, and trying to get them to go back to their own dimension, not realizing they have it backwards. Sword optional.

If you actually start animating, you'll develop a sense for frame timing. ImageReady, that thing that comes with photoshop, should let you preview stuff in explorer though. Try right clicking?

I am now MOVING some sections of this conversation to our project clipboard, which you will see soon...

Food related villains are just so overdone. Not to mention the main villain in PPGZ has a desperate addiction to food along with the Team Leader. Mail order Ninja's would be cool. Like the episode starts with the girls watching TV and one of 'em (most likely Usagi but maybe even Bonsai) declares they MUST have the product, but the other two (or Kinomi if its Bonsai...Usagi would probably get dragged to side of Ninjas) would shoot that thought down with the fact that they have super powers, transform into someone that looks just like them but no one notices, and thus does not need a full body stuffy ninja suit.

that would be cool, except I would end up feeling sorry for the ghost. if their was a sword it would be ecto-samurai ghost!

I'll check that out...the next time I mess with .gif. Which is only when I change avatars. And I finally made one I like!

I'll look into that. The note right? I saw it last night, but Deviantart was doing something so it was read-only and wouldn't let me see it!

I've almost finished what COULD be the cover of our little comic. I have the girls done, I just have to color the back ground....crap.

Most, if not all, of this is highly amusing. I'll have to formulate a proper response tomorrow though! I've downloaded so much anime lately. I'm falling behind. Claymore! Ghosty looking chicks fighting demons... it's actually pretty good.

I had an idea for semi-animated paneling earlier while I was learning to make those little .gif signature movie things, but I'm not sure if it would be cool or just lame. I'm thinking...

I didn't realize you were 15 until we'd been talking a few days! Pretty impressive. If you're planning on being a professional artist, I don't think you're going to have a lot of problems. And you know you can't drive and draw right? I have visions of a confused policeman looking through quickly pencilled drawings of a tree getting closer and closer...

Reed. lol It's Reed.

And stop calling greyhounds fat. It's hard enough being a pointy headed speed dog without the abuse of passing manga artists. You wonder why it rains on you!

Ghostly fighting chicks...we'll just have to use them as spring boards for other "villanous" fiends to set our little girls against.

I have conquered the art of using .gif except for one thing...I can never get the timing right! I wish I could find the button for a preview before I save the thing going ten times faster or a million times slower than I frickin' want!

That would be interesting. And I always did like a situation that baffled policemen. Being 15 sux. Just old enough to drive, not old enough to drive ALONE. And I get to play taxi for my sister when school starts...my younger sister. I had always planned to be a professional until last year. Now I'm devoted to going into the Air Force. I'll be the one flying sr 71 blackbirds over China! WHOOP!!!!

What, your name is Reed? YOU LIE!!!! jk, well you say its RWD on your site mister, so that's what I'm going to put! Nyah. *sticks out tongue*

I didn't say they are fat. And I can make fun of them all I want, since they're my high school mascott. Dear lord, the guy in the suit looks like a walking rat, NOT a greyhound. If only we had a REAL Greyhound, but then the school would have ta PAY for it. Which is soooo not going to happen on OUR budget. And God only rains on me to punish me for putting off my summer reading. Which I will do...Monday.

You know, I can believe you and your friends are talky. Sweet sheep of Zeus, scroll up! You and I have written a 45 page mega-series tutorial on Powerpuff modification and misuse of playground equipment. Which is actually going really well, so I guess I'll get back to that...

"The intellectual challenge of putting huge eyes on a small face" should be the name of your blog, Zoe. I'm not even kidding! haha Also you have my complete support on flash freezing Texas. I vote "yes" on cartoonish super-villainy.

So you've got a minimum of 11 panels in that opening. Can you do that in two pages? I like the basic idea of it, since it sets Berry up as the leader right away by anchoring on her. Also it shows the school from a bunch of angles and sets up where they are without a big establishing shot. Are you planning things like that consciously?

oh ok, I know what you mean now. There must be a name for those rooftop stairwell exits, but I don't know what it is either. ok ok 17... here, I'm writing it on my screen in marker. Breathe!

Air is about people turning into air?? That's kooky and now I wanna watch it. That song is kind of sad, and I'm sure it's really sad after you watch a bunch of people vaporize with that as the theme music! That Bokurano thing doesn't have a very high survival rate either, and once I realized everyone I was watching was doomed, the opening song took on a dismal new angle. Did you ever see Paranoia Agent? That had my favorite theme.

Stop gambling on armadillos. I'm pretty sure it's wrong. Maybe we could have a villain with a time machine. He could be disrupting things by going back in time to see strange little events like the day armadillo racing was invented. Because think about it, someone had to catch an armadillo or two, and paint numbers on them or something, and THEN talk several of his friends into also catching armadillos and painting numbers on them...

So you guys really are a productions, I see. That's very cool.

God doesn't care about your photoshop. He just wants you to stop betting on armadillos.

If it's any consolation, my computers are all in rebellion or dying of choco leche related injuries. Three more days at present speed and I'll logging in from a cell phone out near the fish markets.

The ability to talk is one I take high advantage of. And this conversation take up about 13 pages in Microsoft. Don't think about THAT too hard.

Texas is hot. Especially where I live. I am next door to Hell. And snow is my mortal enemy, yet I long for its presence more than anything in the world at times.

No. I plan nothing at landscaping. YOU LIE!!! jk, however I do have a plan on the moment just before the transformation. However, I will have to tell you in my next comment since my friend is over and I'm taking up value "The Covenant" viewing time. And there are four hot OW OW guys in it, so this takes priority!

Seventeen is the sacred age at which I may go on a Roadtrip without Parental Supervision. You will BOW to the number 17!!! *laughs evilly and points "finger of accusation" at RWD*

Air is the strangest series I have ever heard of besides After School Nightmare. I have never witnessed any of the things you've spoken of. they sound...like something weird.

The only reason we raced armadillos is because GreyHounds are too big. Duuuuuuh.

God does care about my photoshop or he would let me finish all of my pictures. He was so kind as to let me do my ID and Contest picture, but evil enough to cancel out Internet with rain. He hates me. *sob sob*

I pity choco leche. Randomness of the day.

Secret identities have been handled badly since the first time Clark Kent hurried into a phone booth! Now it's such a convention I think 90% of creators just ignore the whole issue and follow suit. It's funny how many ideas come from being annoyed with the way a subject is traditionally handled. You can almost write whole stories based only on things you didn't like somewhere else.

You say "if" you ever transform instead of "when". Don't be such a pessimist!

I get a lot of blank looks here in Mexico over manga style art, and yeah a lot of my American friends dis the anime look too. I quote my best friend, "Why do they all have to have such big eyes? It looks stupid." haha barbarians!!

Bonsai sketches!

This is why I'm saying you have to separate the concept-work from the project to some degree. If you've got 10 good ideas and you're only using six of them, you need to archive the unused four for later projects. Eventually you'll have huge collections of random ideas sitting around. VERY helpful.

That's a good outline for the first section. That will take maybe 16 or 20 panels? Are you going to keep that vertical linear style like you used for the Comp Love strip? That worked really well. (How many ways are there to sit on top of a door? I assume you mean sitting on top of the door, and that it would need to be open for that to happen. This is a trick question isn't it? Seven! I guess seven!)

I've never seen AirTv. I'm watching Code Geass, Claymore, PPG Z, Nanoha StrikerS, Sky Girls and Bokurano at the moment. And some thing about about sports bunnies vs. rabid fan aliens. Bokurano has a creepy theme song that I find kind of mesmerizing. Bittorrent is good for finding fansubs, but if you haven't found fansubTV, you should check it out. You can get a few PPG Z episodes there. Presumably you know them already since you're watching AirTV...

The big Z website is called "To the Z!", and they have lots of download links. I don't know if there's a forum section specifically devoted to hating Ken, but there probably should be. Being generic isn't a very good power.

haha "sneak" armadillos in. That just makes me think "armadillo smuggler". Which in turn leads to visions of the police opening someone's trunk to find a dozen excited armadillos. I'm still working on my armadillo slippers here. The pig and fish slippers have come out better so far. People probably won't know what they are anyway, since no ones ever seen a living armadillo!

What do you mean by your cousin constructing? Do you draw while someone else directs you mean? Do you collaborate for fun or because there are parts of this you don't like doing?

ok the guy who made up Powerpuff Girls to begin with is Craig McCracken. And CalArts is a Disney funded animation school in north LA.

I spent a couple hours trying to draw an avatar with my hated wacom tablet, then finally gave up and went with this sad rendition of the Thirdrail logo. It will have to do until I get something worked out. That guy Seiryuga has the best avatar(s) I've ever seen.

Me and my loverly friends can rant for 3 hours on one subject and how we love and a seperate 3 hours on how me hate its guts. Its a special talent inplanted into us which drew us to each other...despite the fact the fools can't understand the intellectual challenge of putting huge eyes on a small face and STILL making it look like a person! They know NOTHING!!! *laughs manically*

When I transform, you shall know, because all of Texas will have dropped 45 degrees in the Summer and for God's sake it WILL snow here!!!! That, and the sky will bleed red. And being pessimistic is what strives me to find ways to be OPtomistic. So bleh *blows rasberry through smile*

And will make a file called "recently rejected ideas". And I shall look at it 6 months from now...which would make it "not-so recently rejected ideas." I do that with old notebooks I've drawn in. Its fun to put a date on new art and then a year from then redrawing the same picture and it comes out TEN TIMES BETTER!!! Would you believe me if I told you my pictures used to be stick ppl with just a little depth? They were that "circle with a line across the forehead for bangs" with a triangle where the neck would be that extended into a dress. *shudders*

I will not be putting it in the same format as a strip comic. It will be more like Bleedman's comics. And that would be exactly...a lot of panels. Can't count exactly how many yet. Because it will start with outside the window of the detention room. then Bonsai writing her spiel. then it will constantly break between Bingo skipping/Bastille bouncing on her head and Berry singing. Like when Berry starts singing all you'll see is from her just above her nose(a.k.a. no eyes) down. Everytime it breaks back to her you'll see her from a different angle, like behind her, and then her feet swinging or something. I think I'll break between the two three times each.

In anime on the roof, its like the door is a cement block on the roof. So "sitting on the door" is like "sitting on the structure that puts the door on the roof". And no. Its not seven. Its seven-TEEN. Because that is the best number in the world.

You don't need to see AirTV. Its weird and only depressing. No happy ending. half the ppl "turn into air". But its such a pretty series, I couldn't stop watching. I found a really pretty music video. Have you gone to youtube? (if you type in "air tv aozora", they'll only give you four videos and only one of them is AirTV, even though they have about 5 different videos for the series. If you do this, click on the one that says Sad Farwell...though I think it tell s you its AirTV) I just want you to listen to Aozora once. It SOUNDs sad, which makes it perfect. And I found the lyrics in English and Japanese. I'd have Berry sing it in Japanese, and then when the three are walking down the street before they meet "the stranger" (Gods, he needs a name too) Bingo would be singing it in English.

I mean I'll put Armadillos in randomly, silly! Like on someone's T-Shirt or in the army of Spring Toys. Even in the middle of the road next to some random cat! fun funfun! And I've seen LIVE armadillos too. My dad's company had a picnic and they actually had Armadillo races. It was...weird. And my friend actually bet on one. He lost though, so it was funny instead of weird.

My cousin drew the original comic..like the script. But she draws in stick figure form, so I drew it in chibi-anime form. She's the pony-tailed blonde pulling me off the computer.

I just need Photoshop to NOT die on me long enough to finish the Goddamn effin' SHEET and my ID will be DONE!!! but NOOOOOOOOOO! My COMP keeps dying! God doesn't want me to finish my work....

I think I shall try this site out. I'm not one for forums though. I just like to rant to ppl. But since my only basis for hate is a broken episode 4, I don't think I can complain too much yet. Though I can say he's very obnoxious.

Their Japanese names are really just translations of their regular names? That never occured to me! I thought they just got identities when they became human characters instead of lab projects.

Coming up with new and interesting hair is always a challenge, I agree. I'm a huge fan of weird brainds, ribbons, and pony/puppy tails... but the ones I usually like best are hair styles that somehow incorporate inanimate objects. Hyung Tae-Kim has the best hair styles I've ever seen. I recommend checking his stuff out for inspiration. He's also the all seeing master of manga fashion. And surreal shoes.

Miyako (Bubbles Z) has killer hair. And I really like the way they made Blossom's pony tail so voluminous. It's almost like a cape.

It's cool the characters are already starting to lock down for you. I'm just here to play brainstorm ping-pong with someone who's actually capable of hitting the damn ball back. You're responsible for maintaining the real vision here, so it's good you instinctively do so! We've got more ideas here than we need for three chicks and a rabbit anyway. Concepts left over just get tossed in the "random notes" file for later use.

If Berry converts to Kinomi... lucky! That completely sounds like a girl's name, just like Berry. Hana's good too. You could also flip Bonsai, so she just uses her Japanese name all the time instead of her super hero name. ok, here... make her Berry/Bastille/Bingo name "Bush". Which is terrible! Like something went kind of askew when she got her PPG name... and so she HATES Bush (of course) and it's like her embarrassing secret, and why she goes by Bonsai.

Rabbit grazing on concrete is good. Very good. Do not be surprised to see the spring idea on a plastic armadillo somewhere down the road...

There's always eight million things to practice drawing. And even google isn't a big enough visual reference library. I know what you mean about other people's lines though. I see better artist's work and their pencil sketches look like a form of distant alien magic to me. Or like your little comic strip where both characters seem completely alive and animate.

haha I can't believe you got this far into Z-land without having seen an episode. The anime is pretty good. The best episodes are great.

You know what's funny about all this Powerpuffing for me? Apparently Craig McCracken and I were at CalArts together, and lived on the same floor of the dorms. And we looked kind of alike, so he and I and this other guy who also kind of looked like us were always getting mistaken for each other. My friends say we hung out in the same groups of people, and no doubt talked to each other... and I don't remember any of it. Aside from his general existence as one of my dorm doppelgangers.

I need an avatar! I guess I should work on that.

Well, I suppose they aren't direct translations. But whatever, you know? Its fun to have two names! Except when you respond to the wrong name. I have never seen a show where ppl transform into something completely different but their friends who know its them call them by their real names, completely giving away their 'secret identity'. And I mean when they first start transforming and in the sappy shows where their transformation looks just like them, just with a different outfit. (a.k.a. Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew, and ....PPGZ! and what I mean by sappy is that one thing is my pet peev. If I transform, I want to look completely different. Like, black hair instead of blonde and a spikey tail sticking out of my all of the sudden tan body! I don't want to just change into the evils of a skirt that HAPPENS to give me super powers.) My gosh, I just realized I ranted. I usually only do that when Im talking...oh, well, I'M not gonna delete all that.

I checked out this Hyung Tae-Kim person's art. Its fantabulous! But its not anime which is all I draw. Makes me jealous when ppl can draw real life art. My friends love my art, but make fun of me for drawing big heads, impossibly skinny waists, big boobs, or gravity-defing hair. But they can only draw a circle with a line across the forhead and call it bangs, so who cares what they think? > Speaking of drawings, I drew some quick sketches of Bonsai which is now in my Scraps file. Here's the link

Bonsai Sketches
I like to be firm about certain things, but it makes me feel guilty later b/c I feel I'm blocking out ideas. The problem is my friends give me ideas for my character's I've been drawing for 6 months! they don't come up to me when I have a NEW character of course! Poo on them...but I luv em all, so who cares?

Lol, I've already created some concept on how to introduce all the girls at the beginning. Unlike PPGZ, the girls all know each other and are friends. In fact, they're the only friends they've got b/c they're the outcasts of the school. Kinomi (Berry) is the silent intellectual who moved from China, which has NO good relations with Japan. Usagi (if I dont' find a name I like any better/Bingo) does interact with everyone - which is to say she talks to them if they talk first, but she's such a hyperactive daydreamer, everyone steers clear of her and her demon stuffed bunny of doom. Bonsai (...bush *cracks up* poor thing) is our little trouble maker. In fact, her first appearance is in detention, where she writes 200 times, "I will not steal sharp knives from the kitchen and cut Princess's hair". Usagi is skipping down the hall with Bastille bouncing on her head, humming a little tune to herself until she hears a different song (which will either be AirTV Aozora, which sounds sad and I like it, or the closer for PPGZ. Can't decide what.) She follows the sound to the roof where Kinomi is sitting ontop of the door (tell me if you know what that means) singing the song. Usagi informs Kinomi that they have to go rescue Bonsai. (which of course means busting in, grabbing her, and running out before Mrs. Keen could blink.) That's as far as I got.

I'll probably sneak a million aramdillos in there, just for you. :d

Thank you thank you. I have another strip on the way after my ID is finished and I color something for Lily-Pily's contest. this one would be contructed by..my cousin? I think my cousin. It will feature my sister and my cousin. I will make an appearance at the end. *laughs evilly* Then I have two group pics of NGZ (Nightmare Girls Z. Name in Progress)

I watched episode's 1-4. Can't find 5 and I couldn't find the middle of 4. Made me sad, but also made me no likey Ken. He's annoying. > there will be no replicating him.

...you know, I have no idea what you were talking about.

I can't make an avatar i LIKE!!! god hates me..*wimper*

I do not in fact want a dead armadillo! But when I run out of the ones I have now, I'll send word...

Don't we have an extra name now? You only need three girls right? So use Bingo for the rabbit maybe?

You've got a lot of good ideas here. I particularly like all your thoughts on the stuffed rabbit. I want to see the pony tail thing you're talking about. I like the idea of giving the stranger Bellum's no-see-face quirk too.

You know what we didn't think of? Those playground animals attached to springs! The bunny could be one of those when Bastille rides it, only unanchored so it could bounce around. Those things are like the most dangerous piece of playground equipment ever too, so it would fit right in.

Sure I'll do backgrounds. Assuming anyone can tell us how to actually share drawings. If the backgrounds don't need to interact at all, then I could just draw them separate and you could impose your stuff right over them. Your art looks very clean to me! You just need practice drawing inanimate objects, like about eleven million other people, including myself.

I put a couple new pictures up. You can check them out to see the "progress" I've made scanning things in. I'm not sure whether the camera or the scanner is the way to go. I'm not thrilled with either one!

No dead armadillo? bummer, I think my dogs dragged one into our garage last night! *bleh* No, not really, though the other day they were playing with a coral snake. 'Bout scared the living shit outta me.

So far I'm sticking with Bingo for the Hyper-Brain's name. And I like the name Bastille for the bunny! Bibibibi!

I was trying to think of unused hairstyles for PPG. That was the hardest part with Berry. Blossom, long but in a pony tail. Buttercup-short and around her face. Bubbles - twin pig-tails, a character named Bell (which if you've gone through my gallery you will see how cute she is! ) long and completely down with a headband. So I decided to give "Bingo" a half pony tail. Where you only put half of your hair into it on top of your head? And I made her hair wavy, since in PPGZ, Blossom is iron straight, Buttercup is wild, and Bubbles is curly. Oops, I just remembered! When the PPGZ are human, they have different names! But I think its just Bubbles, Blossom, and Buttercup translated into Japanese...If that's true Berry would be Kinomi, but we'd have to come up for something for Bingo and Bonsai, since Bonsai is an original Japanese word and Bingo is one of those english words that don't change when translated into Japanese, like Present is pronounced Presento in Japanese....

For Bonsai, how about Hana? That roughly translates to flower, since Bonsai is a Japanese plant.
And for Bingo, Usagi? That means Rabbit, which is think doesn't need an explanation. Bastille can stay Bastille. If anyone questions it, she can just say she named it after the mutant Bastille that follows Bingo! And everyone would just think she was an otaku.

Well, as for the evil playground equipment, they could be an army sent to break up the concrete and make it easier for Bastille to eat. I'm afraid I've already draw out Bastille's floor plan and I don't think I'll persuaded to add a giant spring to the underside of him.

This whole experience is making me reroute my teritory and expand into such things with which I need work with. As far as my outlines, its the fact that I look at OTHER'S art and their outlines are all smooth, clean, and equal in width where it needs to be.

I'll do that. After I watch the first episode of PPGZ to see how this insanity all happened.

Blitzen is another one. It means lightning in German I think. Aside from my own derelict agent reindeer and a couple of French super heroes from the Tick, it hasn't been used that much outside the Christmas continuum. I like Bastille best of our names so far too. That sets you up for a great mid-battle turning point too... she's losing, then during a pause in the fight, she asks the date... it's July 14th... she whispers "Bastille Day", and the momentum shifts in her favor.

It's really hard not to use bunnies in everything isn't it? I blame "Feel the Magic". I've got to figure out how to draw armadillos or lemurs or something to widen my cute animal skills! In fact, that will be my next task... designing and implementing armadillo slippers...

Scissor chick's hair being uneven is very clever too. You're full of good ideas! I vote yes on transforming back to human. If for no other reason, it opens up so many great doors for the bunny steed. You could make it a stuffed bunny she carries around in regular form. Even better, make it NOT a bunny, but have her insist it IS a bunny. So it's like a vaguely rabbit-ish monster thing only she could love, and you get the constant quirky interaction of people constantly being all, "What the hell is that thing?", "It's a bunny!", "Dude. That's not a bunny.". Have it so she actually throws it away during her transformation, and then always has to whistle to find the thing again. In regular life, she should talk to the stuffed bunny like it's going to respond... so sometime before her first transformation there's a scene where she whistles at the rabbit to come even though it's an inanimate object. Then the steed whistling after her transformation picks up an edge of "insanity triumphing over common sense".

If you really want to create the shadow PPG, then there's got to be some counter for Utonium too. I suggest having him be the stranger they talk to. And have his interactions with them all be exactly wrong... like offering them candy, or rides in his car, or needing their help finding his lost kitten. Personally, I don't think Ken is interesting enough to bother duplicating, but maybe you have some great idea there.

Berry's communication is cool too. I always like in anime when people do that fast nod w/little noise to say "yes". I'd like to see that kind of verbal shorthanded upon.

Are you actually planning on doing a manga with this gang? I want in as a plotting and/or scripting consultant! I'd offer to help with background art or something too, but until we both master moving art from paper to computer and back again, that would probably backfire in terms of "helping".

In a minute, I'm going to see about sidestepping this whole scanner issue with my digital camera. Inking/colouring on a pc from a pencil drawing should be incredibly easy! Why must this be such a pain? I feel like I'm missing some core piece of the puzzle.

I personally like Bonsai and Bingo. Maybe work on Bingo, but I'm too deep in love with Bonsai to change it. And Bastille. It be cool if she ran into the same villan a month later and just yelled out with a sadistic smile "It's Bastille Day again!!!!" And the villan does that weird anime cry where he cries waterfalls of tears from the cornors of his eyes and goes "THAT WAS LAST MONTH!!!" And she just smiles cutely and goes "EVERYday is Bastille Day!!!!" lol.

I live in Texas. Armadillo slippers...that sounds like Road Kill. Would you like me to send you some road kill armadillo?

The demon bunny toy with one small black button eye and a large glass red eye. An evil smile with one overgrown fang peaking out of the sewn pink mouth. Original PPG Limbs (a.k.a. No fingers/toes) with three HUGE claws protruding from where the paws, or bunny fingers, would be. One ear longer than the other, slightly torn. And patches of mismatched fur. The Perfect Children's Toy!! And she'll carry it on her head, half her hair pulled into a pony tail keeping it balanced. And when she skips and it bounces slightly on her head, she'll sing out "Bi bi bi bi! Bastille day! Bi bi bi bi!" or something like that. And everyone will look at her like she was sprouting tentacles from her back.

As far as Utonium's double goes, he'd probably be the reincarnation of Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas as far as personality goes. A gambling man, and when the girls first see him and he offers candy if they come with him, Bingo (or name in progress) will jump onto his back and scream "Bastille likes CANDY!!!!", Bonsai will go "That candy icky. I want Bubble Gum." but she'll get into the car anyway, because Berry will have said something for the first time in the comic! "We shall go with you, mysterious stranger. But be forewarned, commit one act of harm upon either of these two and you'll wake up very confused in Iran without a gun." But you won't be able to see his appearance because he'll be wearing one of those large brown overcoats with the high collar that obstruct vision of his face.

Sometimes when those noises are used excesivelly, it pisses me off. Like when all the characters nod at the same time. Berry will be able to speak, but she speaks with a formal tongue and considering her age (which is about ten) no one but adults (and sometimes not even them) can understand her. Which would be fine if when she DID speak she wasn't being cynical or demeaning someone.

I think I will. Just a short one at first, like "the beginning". I'm glad you can do backgrounds, b/c that is the ONE thing I totally SUCK at! We should seek help from the higher beings...
I hate being the only one who doesn't kno how to make clean lines. *smacks head on keyboard* OOooo waffles!

Giving her the match weapon was clever. Nice idea.

Thank you. But as I stated in my comment, it kinda deviates from the "innocent-children's-toy-gone-dangerous" theme they had going. (Bubbles = Bubble Wand, Blossom = Yo-Yo, Buttercup = Toy Hammer...ok, they kinda broke their own chain.)

But my friends boyfriend (and my friend sometimes) are such pyro-maniacs, I thought it would fit with my lovely dark Powerpuff. The Black Fire really brings out her eyes....*evil laughter inserted into background*

The bubble wand outshines the other two by a longshot. The yo-yo is ok and the hammer verges into "imaginative cop out" territory. I'd have given Blossom a pinwheel or maybe some kind of high tech kaleidoscope. Buttercup is tougher but there's got to be a more original way to bonk everything... perhaps she should have the yo-yo.

The match is good though. You could pair her with a speed demon scissor girl and a merry-go-round equestrian that specializes in horseplay. All their adventures could begin with talking to strangers... maybe call them the "No! Girls".

*can't stop laughing and yet is still crying* I keep watching Air TV amvs, and that series is so sad. You're lovely comment picked me right up though. Maybe Buttercup should have one of those Cup-and-Ball toys. the one where the ball is tied to the end of the string and u try to toss it up and catch it in the cup? Course, as a weapon, its about as useful as the Yo-yo. hmm....

thanks to the end of your comment, I REALLY want to draw that....bwahahahahaha!

I like the cup and ball idea! Maybe have it actually fire the ball at high velocities, but then have the tether be bungi-like. So it keeps powering up as long as you keep making the catches on its return from impact. I think that would work well for Buttercup because it's kind of reckless and scary. I still think there should be moments where the other two have to reign her in...

The yo-yo would have been well served by a secondary function. Like if it had holes in it, and whistled for sonic functions, or could be temporarily magnetized.

Match stick Berry should get strike plate soles for her shoes. Then she could light a match at say, the beach. More importantly, she'd get cool spark effects when she landed. Mix in a three dimensional fighting style, so she's constantly spring-boarding off walls and other pieces of vertical landscape. I know. I know. Sparky shoes have been done to death, but they look so keen!

lol, you have certainly thought deeply into this. Which is why I have begun crafting your previously mentioned characters. I have completed "Run's-with-scissor's", though she needs a name. The common theme is their names all start with B's and are also some sort of object. Bubbles, Blossom, Buttercup, Berry. (Bell if you count Bleedman.)

Can you evaluate on "merry-go-round equestrian"? I have a general idea on how she will appear, but I would like to know your thoughts on weaponry and even some input on her appearance.

I like you're idea for Berry's shoes and her means of transportation. I generally like my characters to give up some brawn for agility.
IDEA'S PLZ!

haha You don't even know... if I was thinking deeply on this we'd be retroactively designing 400 years of Powerpuff history and rewriting particle physics for our own twisted story needs. Which is so not going to happen here! This is a really fun conversation though. I can't wait to see what you're drawing.

Merry-go-round equestrian translates roughly into girl riding disconnected merry-go-round pony. The problem is that a horse stays in her horseplay theme, but she'd look much cooler on a big plastic bunny or giraffe. And she shouldn't actually do anything, her power should be that she's a supernaturally bad influence. So she's kind of the brains of their operation, but all her ideas are things like, "We can escape this jungle ambush by setting all the trees on fire! Yay!"

You could easily slide over to having her be a knight on a rocking horse too. Give her an umbrella lance that she only uses as a parasol when she's indoors, and she feels ready.

B names... Bonsai maybe? Bingo? Name the rocking horse Bastille perhaps?

Also... I want to draw on paper and then ink and colour on the pc. My scans come out looking terrible, and I'm not even sure which program I should be trying to learn to use. Any suggestions?

Bonsai. Me likey. And yes, this is fun! Bastille. I like the plastic bunny idea...with a mechanical limb or something. And blood red eyes. After all, these girls are like the Nightmare Children of PPGZ. Her demon bunny could eat through metal and steel frames and it comes to her with nothing more but a whistle. And her parasol can be made of tough iron...in this case, she'll be my one character who gave up agility for brawn. Thus Bastille.

Speed demon scissor girl...I made her hands like Edward scissorhands, except that they are each like an extention of the fingers rather than a collection of sharp objects. Almost like claws, but sharper. Which is why I also cut her hair unevenly. Like she kept running her fingers through it forgetting she didn't really have 'hands' at the moment. But when she transforms back to human (if they even DO) her hair is even and looks like layers.

Berry is more to her self, so she almost talks to the other two telepathically. Meaning to say, one look and they know exactly what she means.

As far as your scans go, I'm sorry to say you've come to the wrong person for I suffer the same horrid fate. I use an out of date Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0. Most ppl use something like a CSS or something like that, but I know one artist who uses the 7.0 version of what I use, so I'm not quite sure what would be your preference. If you find a way to fix your scans, let me know. Along with inexperience coloring, my outlines always make me hate a picture. XP
