Nothing new, I'm afraid. But it is a start, right? you know that the last page is two years old?

It's certainly been a while but I didn't think it was 2 years already ._.
I'm going to be 30 in no time if I keep thinking that way xD

tell me about it. Year after year passes so quickly and sometimes it feels like I'm wasting my life away with work...

I stay up at night and sacrifice my sleep to do what I love sometimes. Not the best idea but it works.
Sacrificed time with friends and other stuff. And while I'm at work I just chill and disconnect my mind so it rests, but it works again at lunch and after working hours. That's how I got by my contract days. Felt like a hellhole to me... so now I'm trying to find another job that's more my thing, and I'm thinking of becoming a kid's art teacher part time so I still have a chance at full time if I could ease into it.Ā
Oh sweet alcohol, how I wish I have you when times are dark, so that I may sell you for money.

at least you found your way to disconnect a little. I found the worst killer for my social life is my job. I do love my work, but many won't understand, that I can't go out on weekends because I work. And as a nurse, I do work a lot of late shifts and nights, where I have to stay focused. Well at night I can at least work on my art a little. But well.

I know, I can't go out on weekends either. I've got class on Saturdays and Sundays I'm shut in trying to enjoy the time I have to draw but my family keeps bugging me all the time. Not many friends who ask me out though. Actually, no one ever has. It had always been me.Ā
I hope you'll find some way of getting the time to work on your art, sometimes we feel like work takes us away from what we are but we just need to find a way to do what we want to do inside. Don't let the mundane everyday take over and stuff! I support you

too bad you live so far away, we could go out together and talk about all kind of stuff ...

I feel you there, and I don't have too many friends either. At least I go to a mini-festival next month with a friend, who understands that I can't stay out the whole night because of my dogs.

Awww thank you so much. I do find time to draw, be it during nightshift or late in the evening when I'm off work. Here, little sneak on what I'm currently working on

Oh I would have loved that maybe someday ^^
Sounds like fun! Must be for the Christmas celebrations I'm sure? I hope the dogs have been well

Neato! I'm sure once the rest of the colours are in it will be grand~ glad to see those markers are paying off xD

Zombilein In reply to FoxWriter2 [2018-11-27 10:52:18 +0000 UTC]

yes maybe someday. Who knows, maybe I will someday go travelling around the world ^^

Well, it is kind of Christmas... The festival is called "Xmas in Hell" headlining Six feet under

The dogs are fine. I'm proud of my baby boy Dodger, in the year he is with me he has come such a long way. Think of it. When I got him September '17 he was so scared that he went in full on panic mode when I tried to pet him. And now, he likes to sleep with his head on my chest and if he gets scared he runs to me instead of running away. And He-man is a funny guy, but also protecting his brother, me and the yard

Thanks, Hope to get to finish it soon

And maybe I'll someday find enough cash to make a trip down to America xD
I've always wanted to find my buddies across the world, if only it wasn't so damn expensive...

"Christmas" indeed xDĀ

Awww the sweet little thing! I'm glad he's gotten over his fears, most of them anyway xD
You did a wonderful thing to take them in, I'm sure they are both very happy ^^

I hope I finish some of mine soon too, so much on my plate lately kek

Zombilein In reply to FoxWriter2 [2018-11-27 11:50:19 +0000 UTC]

Yes, America is on my bucket list as well as Scotland. I need to see Scotland before I die, lol.

It's expensive, plus I had to take my dogs along. Great Britain and Ireland would be ok, I could drive there... which is expensive as hell. But I don't want them to suffer in a cage on the tarmac. Heard really horrible stories about how airport workers treat animals.

Oh, they are, and very spoiled as well. You know, we kind of helped each other. I took them in and spoil them rotten, and they love me back and I don't have the feeling I'm alone in the house. It's a win-win situation

Looking forward to seeing your stuff, hope you get to finish it very soon.

I need to see Sweden, the US, and France :/ Maybe Egypt at some point later, and also Africa. Nothing like getting stung by insects in the heat of every single day trying to look for animals.

Britain does sound rather expensive, from what I know. But it is such a lovely place, and the home of the British Wildlife Aid, the one place I always donate to. They're one of the few organisations I can trust to handle donation money properly.Ā
I've heard some of those too, they just leave the poor dogs out in the heat, poor thing was panting like crazy and got a heat stroke, the airline offered to compensate but the matter had to be swept under the carpet. Naturally the owner said no and it went viral. Poor things don't deserve that sort of treatment, it's quite a risk.

It's always rewarding to feel your dog say "I love you" through the many funny things they do xD I sometimes wish I had a dog... then I remembered, I like cats, and I am her dog. As a part-time pet, I can say that when my mistress takes care of me and rushes me to hospital even in the middle of service, she is worth my love and life.Ā Ā

Thank you! So many overdue things, where to even begin, yikes

Zombilein In reply to FoxWriter2 [2018-12-02 17:10:43 +0000 UTC]

Britain is rather expensive...

I've been to Ireland and you pay yourself poor on meat products

Yeah, that was a Greyhound as well, now wasn't it? Well, Britain isn't too far away from Germany, so I will someday make the journey. It's rather hard to find housing though. I do have two large dogs. They are well behaved, clean and quiet but still, it is a problem.

I get my doggies from a Greyhound rescue organisation, and I do donate there.

Begin with the first thing you get your hands on.

FoxWriter2 In reply to Zombilein [2018-12-02 23:31:25 +0000 UTC]

What do you mean by pay yourself on poor meat products? I am confused...

Perhaps you could rent a small van that can take animals up, which would be a lot easier than taking a plane. It would definitely be longer though, but I've seen people do it with huskies to transport them in between shelters.

That's sweet :3 I love the breed, there's just something to their body shape that looks so oddly intriguing, and their personalities can be so diverse.

Well I haven't slept in 12 hours, been up all night again drawing and my main functions are shuttting down xD

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Zombilein In reply to FoxWriter2 [2018-12-02 23:57:42 +0000 UTC]

I meant, that the meat is so expensive, that you'll get poor by buying them.

well I do have a small van for the boys and me. But try find a bed&breakfast which allows dogs. Or a cottage....

And Greys are incredibly lazy.

oh dear...I know that feeling. Working at the graveyard shift at the moment. The night is long and full of terrors....

FoxWriter2 In reply to Zombilein [2018-12-03 00:05:48 +0000 UTC]

Wow, must be some kind of rare meat xD

Or one of those small inns or hotels near a foresty area, that caters specially for pet owners? I wonder if there's plenty of those where you come from. A bnb is probably the cheaper option though.

Are they?xD I always thought Golden Retrievers were lazy but not Greyhounds xD

Oh boy, but it was sort of worth it to see the results.... in a light that I didn't want.

It was a serious practice on shading tones etc for me but I messed up in a few areas. But I'm so tired right now I'm ffalling asleep xD

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Zombilein In reply to FoxWriter2 [2018-12-03 19:26:08 +0000 UTC]

yeah, I checked those options but they are some catches to them. One is that some of them only allow one dog. Then with most of them, the bedroom is upstairs and can be reached over a steep staircase. Something you can handle with a smaller dog, but mine are pony sized and weigh up to 40 kg... I can't just pick them up and carry them upstairs, besides they won't walk steps that are too steep...

But well... Here we have some awesome areas as well and I can always drive home or stay in the car for one night.

Dear, that picture is awesome. I love the colours, the brightness and the shading. That's very well done.

FoxWriter2 In reply to Zombilein [2018-12-04 02:25:59 +0000 UTC]

I see, that's a bit more work then. Unless the bnb owners allow you to let them sleep on the ground floor, I guess? If they have dogs of their own it might not be so bad.
A van or one of those smaller campers would also be more customised, and easier for you to handle the dogs. Gives them a little space too :3Ā

Thank you! It's been my second attempt at more complex colours and shades, and material texturing. I think I finally got the hang of gold shading, but still need work on overall proportions... I think I may have to really look at getting new brushes for photoshop, the default ones are testing my patience. Seemingly nothing gives me a palette knife feel with the exception of the largest round brush which still needs two colours to blend in with opacity.

But that's for the next big project... which I won't have to wait long for xD

Zombilein In reply to FoxWriter2 [2018-12-04 10:22:39 +0000 UTC]

oh the struggles of an artist

I still have the same problems with Gimp. The smudge tool still acts like a brush and I can't figure out why. But maybe I can find a way around or just start to colour differently.

As for you, you seem to master the art of shading and you have a great eye for colours. Really really love it.

FoxWriter2 In reply to Zombilein [2018-12-04 14:40:28 +0000 UTC]

It's always a lot easier with acrylic on canvas for some reason, perhaps not as fast but it does feel like I'm in more control, especially with my brush grasp...

if only it was possible to get a downgrade back to the old gimp, maybe it would function as it used to.Ā

Actually in this particular picture I didn't know where the main light source was xDD I just decided to do a very "neutral" shading where the object looked best in with shadows. The character on the left is Neeko, a new game champion that isn't officially released on the servers yet, she is described as the "curious chameleon" (therefore the unique design and colours), and runs on four legs, two legs, and has an ability to transform herself into anyone. I figured her posture was fitting, though there are changes I'd still like to make.
Thank you, really! My general light-use rule of thumb is - If it makes your audience feel like they are going colourblind, you've done it perfectly xD

damn, I just noticed I have never watched you... how could I have gone missing such wonderful art

I tried the downgrade, it's not possible. I think I have to stick with what I got. And since the one "Keldor" page is nearly ready to get coloured I better think of something.

Your thumb rule is great.

Oh that's alright, thank you for the watch xDD
The good thing is I'm just getting warmed up Getting gud now xD

How about Krita?

I have a few friends who use it, it's free too and it does the job for them ^^

Haha thanks! Slowly making the world lose its sense of colours and relearning them xD
