Description Deinotherium ("terrible beast" derived from the Ancient Greek δεινός, deinos meaning "terrible" and θηρίον, therion meaning "beast") was a large prehistoric relative of modern-day elephants that appeared in the Middle Miocene and survived until the Early Pleistocene. During that time it changed very little. with some large ears for cooling off and some extra lip plus some smoother skin because not all prehistoric elephants would have modern elephant wrinkles

Nicely done! Especially love how you gave this guy a trunk that almost touches the ground, like a more modern elephant, just kinda' makes more sense to me what with the beastie's stature and all.

Very nice work making it look distinct enough from modern elephants and making it its own animal, but still managing to illustrate key features of elephants!

Plausible reconstruction, if I seen one. Though some say proboscidean's ears have less to do with heat regulation and more to do with species recognition.

those big ears would have distinghed it form the other proboscidean's that live in they same environment...Africa was full of giant proboscidean's and thanks for telling me that I always thought they were for heat regulation but why not both lol
