Description Been doing a lot of non-representational colored pencil doodling on the side for about ten years now. I recently started experimenting with combining that with my realism.

The idea; a sort of disembodied face wearing a super-intricate head dress, was inspired by QueenIndra's "Solmi Sketch" which can be seen in my favorites.

The model is my friend, Erika, nicknamed "Fruit Fly", so the title's an inside joke.

I like when your filled colour textures, how can i say; them ribbles. I see something same symmetric way to processing in my own works. I mean those naturally living colours with pinch of psychedelia.

abs. everything about it. The colors and the way you mixed them, the shadowing on her face (especially all the lines on her forehead), etc. etc. And I can tell that you've put like A LOT of work and hours into it. And it looks amazing!

Ooh I love it^^ I think it's great when people mix in other elements in portrait-drawings, it makes it much more interesting, and has more of the artist in it

As soon as I saw this in my watch list it reminded me of QueenIndra's Solmi drawing...so it definitely echoes that successfully.

I really love all the swirling colors combined with the black and white face.
