Fluorite is a very popularly known mineral. Its basic color is completely colorless and transparent but it can be found in almost any color due to imperfections. Common colors are purples, greens, yellows and blues often banded across the gem. When exposed to ultraviolet light Fluorite shows “fluorescence” which was aptly named after the stone. Fluorescence is the appearance of a bright glowing color due to impurities in the mineral. Fluorite can be mined in many countries including China, Mongolia, Mexico, the United States and many other nations.

Metaphysical: Fluorite is a highly protective and stabilizing stone, useful for grounding and harmonizing spiritual energy. Fluorite can also clear the aura of mucky energies. Fluorite is also used to enhance mental functions by balancing the chemistry in the brain.
