Description This is a piece of (painted?) Turquoise, it came out of my "not sure what's up with it but doesn't look natural box" wrapped in square Argentium Sterling Silver.

SOLD

This sucker was like an inch thick! So I used 5 wires when I normally only use 3, anyway, I think the sides turned out really cool, it was a commission I got from my jewelry party and the recipient is very pleased so yey!

Argentium Sterling Silver is the highest quality of Sterling Silver available today and is highly tarnish resistant. Sterling Silver is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper, Argentium is still the 92.5% silver but it replaces some of the copper with the element Germanium which gives it a higher tarnish resistance and less people are allergic to it than just normal Sterling Silver.

Thank you so much! This one was so thick, at first I was like what on earth will I do with this baby, but then it was like lets make some pretty sides! Make them as much a part of the design as anything else

I've been thinking a lot lately about taking up wire wrapping. I think your work is great! Have any tips for a beginner? Where did you learn?

Thank you! I actually taught myself, I studied wire wraps I saw and tried to mimic them, there were a couple tutorials on youtube but they were for wire wrapping beads and I wanted to wrap solid stones so they didn't really help. My learning was very haphazard and took a lot of time, thinking and crappy wire lol. I've actually made a tutorial and it's very simple, it's only for one way of wrapping and I use several ways, I keep telling people I'll make tutorials for the other ways I use but just don't seem to have the time, maybe someday lol. Anyway, the best thing to do is to buy cheap wire until you get the hang of it, copper is cheap, most stores like hobby lobby will have cheap silver colored jewelry wire for like $3/10yrds which is what I learned on

Here's a link to my tutorial: [link]

I'd say it looks like legit turquoise, might have been stabilized but that aside looks natural! Beautiful job!

Really? I don't know... the color is so unified it just doesn't look right to me I guess... maybe it is real, maybe not, but the girl picked it so I wrapped it lol

Turquoise in my experience usually has remarkably consistent color and patterning. And besides, its a very fashionable stone right now, so even if it is synthetic its worth a bundle!
