Description Piece # 308 "Restless Disarray"
A Zoria's Creation. Krista DeSelms © 2014

I wrapped another!! Doesn't it have an interesting design?! I love this stone and wanted to see it all wrapped up in Gold! What do you guys think? It's for sale too! The last one was a custom but this one is available!

Have you seen the other pieces?? I currently a couple more of these purple labradorite cabochons  if you are interested in a custom wrap!

Labradorite wrapped in round Gold Filled wire.

Labradorite is a feldspar mineral which occurs in large crystal masses in anorthosite rock and shows a beautiful array of colors. These colors are shown in a chatoyant way, an optical phenomenon in which the hue of the stone changes color or flash according to the angle from which the surface is viewed. Labradorite comes in all sorts of shades and colors; most common are blues, greens, golds, and oranges. Purple and magenta are some of the most rare colors.

Gold Filled Wire is not the same as Gold Plated. Gold Filled is an actual layer of gold pressure bonded to a base metal. Gold Filled Wire has over 100% more gold than Gold Platting does. Gold Filled is much more valuable, won't chip away and is more tarnish resistant than plated. Anyone who can wear Gold can wear Gold Filled without worries of allergic reactions to the jewelry.

In the notation 14/20 the 14 refers to the gold being 14k and the 20 refers to the law that to be labeled "Gold Filled" the weight of the wire has to be 1/20th gold. All Zoria's products that have Gold Filled wire is at least 14/20 quality or better.

Thank you very much! I'm a bit bummed about the gold though, I actually had someone tell me they'd have bought it if I had done it in silver, but it just screamed gold to me! Oh well.
