I've taken to Merry a lot recently, in no small part due to her fantastic theme arranges by RD-Sounds and sung by Merami.

So much so that I've embraced her as a third persona of sorts. After Cirno and Alice.

She's a psychology student! Investigating mysteries of an otherwise-unseeable world. An inquisitive dreamer just like us. How can you NOT just adore her?

... I feel like she and Renko need a lot more love. ~

Mm, so. I guess this picture turned into something symbolic about chasing dreams and stuff. Recently I've decided to switch study tracks from Creative Writing to Psychology in PostGrad. So here's to that, the birth of Maribel's journey. Merry looks optimistic and doesn't know what crazy gapping horrific nonsense she might find, which I guess is how I also feel. But I'm excited about the future again, after so long of seeing little in it.

This started as a quick warm-up sketch and I got pulled into making it complete. It's been ages since I drew a full picture, and I daresay I haven't made a background this lush ever. ^^"

And could that be a Makoto Shinkai reference in the title … ? *le gasp*
