Its Digital Art, I have been involved with art when there were no computers.
But I think I have a feel with computer art's brushes and other techniques to produce the artwork that look likes oils and other media.
All my tools are free, I used GIMP and Paint.Net for this work.
Thanks for the feedback. It also helps to know your subjects and good research. I grew up around aircraft most of my life. My dad was a pilot in WW2 and met other pilots as stated above.

Astonishing, sincerly, Mark ! I see this painted classified in 'Digital Art' but it looks like oil paint. Is it an oil paint with a touch of software ? Cheers

Lovely sense of action, great capture. The Americans can only make refrigerators and razor blades.

I would love to learn how to do overlays, beautiful work! I enjoyed reading your profile, nothing like heavy equipment romanticized in art!

Nice work. Shooting up locomotives was one of their favorite pastimes. Always got a nice, satisfying KABOOM!

Amazing creation!
Only a bit sad when thinking about the crew working on the trains who arent soldiers :/

Thank You.
The crews of these trains were vital to the war effort. I am sure that the sacrifices were high considering that the P-47's destroyed 9,000 locomotives.

Thanks John, appreciate it.
The more I read about the P-47, the more I realize how much destruction this aircraft did througout Europe. As someone said, it was the
A-10 of WW II.

No problem.
And nah, it was nothing special to be honest. One of these classic ''Hollywood explosions everywhere'' type of game, if you know what I mean.

I really think that the Republic P-47 (all final production models) is one of the unsung hero's of WWII; overshadowed by its allies; namely the North American P-51 Mustang and the Supermarine Spitfire.

Perfect opportunity, disable the loco on a bridge! Block that track for days.
Like the prop-wash going through smoke effect, that's a tricky one.

Not True. Go to YouTube and watch actual footage of strafing trains. Mostly broadside from rear to front.
