Except that Xehanort most likely has nothing to do with her transformation - I have not played the game yet, but elements in her design suggest a Darkling transformation.

WTF is a Darkling? I hear that word and all I think of Eclipse the Darkling, a member of the Black Arms alien race that appeared in the Archie Sonic comics.

Darklings are enemies introduced in Kingdom Hearts Union X's story, they're Keyblade wielders whose hearts have been overcome by Darkness, making them into a dangerous kind of Pureblood Heartless.
