NEW SIGNATURE! well technically a watermark type signature using my logo.
This year's personal overall theme is experiment, meaning, i'm going to try different styles.
Cobalt blue, a deep blue to a strong greenish-blue color. (well technically it mostly refers to the purpler blue featured here www.glass-enamels.com/picture/…
- I went really outside of the box. I did some research on the origin of the color and found this website www.webexhibits.org/pigments/i… .
- There it explained that the color was officially discovered in 1802 (hence the period clothes).
- The word "cobalt" comes from Middle High German "kobolt" (hence the clothes originating from 1800s Germany)
- I wanted to keep things simple with this one cuz i wanted contrast from my other pieces.
- I also wanted to practice my linework.
- Yes the lines are in cobalt blue.
- Yes the shadows are in a lighter version of cobalt blue (roughly 30-70% lighter, thus being purplish)
